- the UTRA system 200 notifies the mobile station 400 of information related to the EUTRA system 300 acquired from the EUTRA system 300 that is interconnected. Based on the received information about the EUTRA system 300, the mobile station 400 determines whether it has the communication capability required by the EUTRA system 300, and if so, sets the value of the pre-redirection information to True. To do. If not, the mobile station 400 is defined not to transmit pre-redirection information. That is, the current meaning of the case where the value of the pre-redirection information is set to False is not defined. In the present invention, the case where this pre-redirection information is set to False is given. That is, when the mobile station 400 has UTRA side broadcast information and / or when a redirect instruction is received from the EUTRA system 300, the value of the pre-redirection information is set to False.
- the transmission message configuration unit 460 generates various messages to be transmitted from the mobile station 400.
- the mobile station 400 starts wireless communication with the UTRA system 200 or the EUTRA system 300 by a predetermined event such as power-on of the mobile station 400 or a communication start instruction from the user.
- transmission message configuration section 460 generates various messages and causes message transmission section 470 to transmit the generated messages.
- the transmission message configuration unit 460 when the mobile station 400 attempts to communicate wirelessly with the UTRA system 300, the transmission message configuration unit 460 first generates a radio connection request message (RRC CONNECTION REQUEST), and sends the generated message to the message transmission unit 470. Transmit to the UTRA system 200.
- the transmission message configuration unit 460 accesses the pre-redirection setting unit 450 and confirms the value of the pre-redirection information (pre-redirection info) that is an information element of the wireless connection request message. To do. If the value of the pre-redirection information is False, the transmission message configuration unit 460 configures the wireless connection request message by setting the value of the information element pre-redirection information of the wireless connection request message to False.
- the message transmission unit 470 transmits the message provided from the transmission message configuration unit 460 to the transmission destination system.
- the message transmission unit 470 performs appropriate processing such as encoding and modulation in order to transmit the provided message, and transmits it to the transmission destination system.
- the mobile station 400 is redirected from the EUTRA system 300 and wirelessly connected to the UTRA system 200 has been described, but this is merely an example. In other words, the present invention is applicable to redirection between systems using different RATs.
- FIG. 3 shows a configuration of a radio control apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- a radio network controller (RNC) 230 of the UTRA system 200 includes a message receiver 240, a pre-redirection information determination unit 250, a radio control determination unit 260, a transmission message configuration unit 270, and a message transmission. Part 280.
- RNC radio network controller
- the message receiving unit 240 receives various messages and signals from the mobile station 400, performs appropriate processing such as demodulation and decoding, and then provides the received message to the pre-redirection information determination unit 250.
- the pre-redirection information determination unit 250 determines whether the message provided from the message reception unit 240 is a radio connection request message (RRC CONNECTION REQUEST) from the mobile station 400. If the message is a radio connection request message, Check the value of information element pre-redirection info (pre-redirection info). When the value of the pre-redirection information is False, that is, when the mobile station 400 has UTRA side broadcast information and / or the mobile station 400 receives a redirect instruction from the EUTRA system 300, pre-redirection The information determination unit 250 notifies the wireless control determination unit 260 of this, and provides the received wireless connection request message to the wireless control determination unit 260. In other cases, the pre-redirection information determination unit 250 simply transfers the message provided from the message reception unit 240 to the radio control determination unit 260.
- RRC CONNECTION REQUEST radio connection request message
- the radio control determination unit 260 performs radio control corresponding to the message in accordance with the message provided from the pre-redirection information determination unit 250, and causes the transmission message configuration unit 270 to generate a response message corresponding to the message.
- the radio control device 230 when receiving a radio connection request message (RRC CONNECTION REQUEST) from the mobile station 400, the radio control device 230 attempts to establish a radio connection with the mobile station 400. However, if the connection with the mobile station 400 cannot be established for some reason, the radio control device 230 transmits a radio connection rejection message (RRC CONNECTION REJECT) to the mobile station 400, and the EUTRA system 300, etc. May instruct you to redirect to another system. In this case, when the mobile station 400 has already been instructed to redirect to the UTRA 200 from the EUTRA 300 and has requested a wireless connection to the UTRA system 200 in accordance with the redirect instruction, the mobile station 400 requests the EUTRA system 300 to make a wireless connection again. It is inconvenient to do.
- RRC CONNECTION REQUEST radio connection request message
- the wireless control determination unit 260 determines the wireless connection rejection message (pre-redirection info) based on the value of the information element pre-redirection information (pre-redirection info) of the wireless connection request message notified from the pre-redirection information determination unit 250. It is determined whether or not RRC CONNECTION REJECT is transmitted to the mobile station 400 (Reject determination). Specifically, when the value of the pre-redirection information is set to False, that is, the mobile station 400 has UTRA side broadcast information, and / or the mobile station 400 issues a redirect instruction from the EUTRA system 300. If received, the radio control determination unit 260 transmits a radio connection rejection message to the mobile station 400 without instructing the mobile station 400 to redirect to the EUTRA system 300. In this case, the radio network controller 230 may try to establish a radio connection with the mobile station 400 again, or simply transmit a radio connection rejection message to the mobile station 400 to reject the radio connection. Alternatively, the wireless connection station message may not be transmitted to the mobile station 400.
- the pre-redirection information value is set.
- the value of the redirection information is set to False. That is, even if the mobile station 400 does not have the UTRA side broadcast information, the value of the pre-redirection information is set to False even when the mobile station 400 receives a redirect instruction from the EUTRA system 300.
- the radio network controller 230 operates by determining that the mobile station 300 has the UTRA side notification information. Appropriately suppressed.
- the radio control determination unit 260 considers that the value of the pre-redirection information is set to False, and the mobile station 400 Move the response message (RRC CONNECTION SETUP) to the wireless connection request message by setting the connection mode to Cell_DCH, which is the connection mode to which the dedicated channel is assigned, instead of Cell_FACH, which is the connection mode to which only the common channel is assigned. Transmit to station 400 (FACH transition determination).
- the mobile station 400 can communicate with the UTRA system 200 in the Cell_DCH mode, which is a connection mode to which a dedicated channel is assigned from the beginning.
- the mobile station 400 when the pre-redirection information of the wireless connection request message from the mobile station 400 is set to False, the mobile station 400 has UTRA side broadcast information. there is a possibility. However, there is a possibility that this UTRA side broadcast information does not necessarily include the neighboring cell information desired by the UTRA system 200. In other words, as described above, the EUTRA system 300 does not necessarily notify the mobile station 400 of all UTRA side broadcast information acquired from the UTRA system 200, and is often a system information container in which only a part thereof is packaged. Only notice. For this reason, even if the mobile station 400 establishes a wireless connection with the UTRA system 200, such incomplete UTRA side broadcast information must be used, and a good wireless connection may not be maintained. . Therefore, the radio network controller 230 may cause the mobile station 400 to update the UTRA side broadcast information such as the neighboring cell (NCL).
- NCL neighboring cell
- the radio control determination unit 260 determines the mobile station after establishing the radio connection based on the value of the information element pre-redirection information (pre-redirection info) of the radio connection request message notified from the pre-redirection information determination unit 250. It is determined whether or not a measurement request message (Measurement Control) is transmitted to the mobile station 400 so that the radio state of 400 neighboring cells is measured and the UTRA side broadcast information held by the mobile station 400 is updated (NCL update determination) ). That is, when the pre-redirection information of the radio connection request message from the mobile station 400 is set to False, the radio control determination unit 260 causes the transmission message configuration unit 270 to generate a measurement request message and transmits it to the mobile station 400.
- a measurement request message Measurement Control
- the radio control determination unit 260 performs all of the Reject determination, the FACH transition determination, and the NCL update determination, but the present invention is not limited to this. That is, the radio control determination unit 260 may execute at least one of the reject determination, the FACH transition determination, and the NCL update determination. For example, when the radio control determination unit 260 performs only the reject determination, the FACH transition determination and the NCL update determination may not be performed. In this case, when the wireless connection can be established, the wireless control determination unit 260 establishes a wireless connection with the mobile station 400 by a predetermined wireless connection establishment procedure without referring to the value of the pre-redirection information.
- the transmission message configuration unit 270 generates various messages to be transmitted from the wireless control device 230. Specifically, the transmission message configuration unit 270 generates various messages based on instructions from the wireless control determination unit 260 according to a predetermined wireless communication connection procedure, and causes the message transmission unit 280 to transmit the generated message.
- the message transmission unit 280 transmits the message provided from the transmission message configuration unit 270 to the mobile station 400.
- the message transmission unit 280 performs appropriate processing such as encoding and modulation to transmit the provided message, and transmits the message to the mobile station 400.
- the mobile station 400 is redirected from the EUTRA system 300 and wirelessly connected to the UTRA system 200 has been described, but this is merely an example. In other words, the present invention is applicable to redirection between systems using different RATs.
- FIG. 4 is a sequence diagram showing exchanges between components of the mobile communication system according to the embodiment of the present invention.
- the mobile station 400 communicating with the EUTRA system 300 is an example in the mobile communication system 100 for redirecting from the EUTRA system 300 to the UTRA system 200 for any reason such as occurrence of a predetermined event. The redirect process will be described.
- step S101 the base station (eNB) 310 of the EUTRA system 300 terminates communication with the mobile station (UE) 400 and releases the radio connection to redirect the mobile station 400 to the UTRA system 200.
- Send a message RRC CONNECTION RELEASE.
- the EUTRA system 300 transmits a system information container (SYSEM INFORMATION CONTAINER) in which UTRA side notification information is packaged to the mobile station 400.
- the mobile station 400 stores the received system information container.
- the UTRA side notification information may be transmitted together with the radio connection release message as illustrated, or may be transmitted at any time during communication with the EUTRA system 300.
- the mobile station 400 transmits a radio connection request message (RRC CONNECTION REQUEST) to the UTRA system 200 in order to establish a radio connection with the UTRA system 200.
- the mobile station 400 sets pre-redirection information (pre-redirection info), which is an information element included in the message, to False, and transmits a radio connection request message to the UTRA system 200.
- pre-redirection info which is an information element included in the message, to False
- the radio controller (RNC) 230 of the UTRA system 200 checks the value of the pre-redirection information in the received radio connection request message. When the value of the pre-redirection information is set to False, the radio network controller 230 determines that the mobile station 400 has redirected from the EUTRA system 300 and / or holds the UTRA side broadcast information.
- step S103 the radio control device 230 sets the connection mode with the mobile station 400 to a connection mode (Cell_DCH) in which an individual channel is allocated, and moves a response message (RRC CONNECTION SETUP) to the radio connection request from the mobile station 400. Transmit to station 400.
- Cell_DCH connection mode
- RRC CONNECTION SETUP response message
- step S104 the mobile station 400 transmits a response message (RRC CONNECTION SETUP COMPLETE) to the received message to the UTRA system 200, and wireless communication between the mobile station 400 and the UTRA system 200 is established.
- a response message RRC CONNECTION SETUP COMPLETE
- radio control apparatus 230 transmits a measurement request signal (Measurement Control) in order to cause radio control apparatus 230 to measure the radio state of neighboring cells of mobile station 400 in UTRA system 200 and to report the measurement result. Based on this measurement request signal, the mobile station 400 updates the UTRA side broadcast information acquired and stored from the EUTRA system 300.
- a measurement request signal Measurement Control
- the radio network controller 230 performs all of the Reject determination, the FACH transition determination, and the NCL update determination, but the present invention is not limited to this. That is, the radio network controller 230 may execute at least one of the reject determination, the FACH transition determination, and the NCL update determination. For example, when the radio network controller 230 performs only the reject determination, the FACH transition determination and the NCL update determination need not be performed. In this case, when the wireless connection can be established, the wireless control device 230 establishes a wireless connection with the mobile station 400 by a predetermined wireless connection establishment procedure without referring to the value of the pre-redirection information.
