Abstract
An evaporation system comprising a plurality of evaporators arranged in series is related, and each evaporator comprises: (1) a shell side which is connected to a source of hot vapors and a tube side which is adapted to receive stillage, (2) a steam outlet connected to a vapor separating vessel for releasing evaporator steam as stillage boils in response to the heat from the hot vapor; and (3) a stillage outlet for releasing stillage, furthermore said evaporation system adapted to utilize the hot vapors as the only source of heat.
