Abstract
A lighting device (1) comprises: a supporting plate (2) and at least one main tubular body (4), having an inner compartment which at least one light source is housed in. The main body may be of various shapes, for example linear or a closed ring. The body is made from aluminium or in plasterboard, with the possibility of recessing the supporting plate so as to conceal it in the wall.

DESCRIPTION
"Lighting device with tubular elements"
[0001] The present invention relates to a lighting device having a particularly decorative impact.
[0002] In the lighting sector devices which are highly functional are widely appreciated, that is to say able to sufficiently illuminate a room and easy to install, with particularly simple lines.
[0003] The purpose of the present invention is to make a functional lighting device which is easy to install and has particularly simple lines.
[0004] Such purpose is achieved by a lighting device according to claim 1.
[0005] The characteristics and advantages of the lighting device according to the present invention, will be evident from the description below, made by way of a non- limiting example with reference to the attached drawings, wherein:

[0014] With reference to the appended drawings, reference numeral 1 globally denotes a lighting device according to the present invention.
[0015] Preferably, the lighting device 1 is suitable to be fitted to a wall, such as a side wall of a room to be illuminated.
[0016] According to embodiment variations, the lighting device according to the present invention is suitable to be rested on a surface, for example to realise a table lamp, or to be hung, to realise a chandelier or the like.
[0017] Preferably, the device 1 comprises a supporting plate 2 for connection to the support or to the wall.
[0018] Moreover, the device 1 comprises a main body 4 having its main extension along a main axis X,
rectilinear, curvilinear or partially rectilinear or partially curvilinear.
[0019] The main body 4 is tubular, for example closed peripherally; for example the cross-section is circular.
[0020] According to embodiment variations, the cross- section is ellipsoidal or polygonal.
[0021] The length of the main body, that is the extension along the main axis X, is much greater than the characteristic dimension of the cross-section defined by the intersection of the main body with a plane orthogonal to the main axis.
[0022] For example, for a circular cross-section, the characteristic dimension is the diameter; for art ellipsoidal cross section, the characteristic dimension is the major or minor axis; for a polygonal cross section the characteristic dimension is a side or a diagonal.
[0023] Preferably, the characteristic relationship, defined as the ratio of the length of the main body to the characteristic dimension of the section is over 10, for example the characteristic ratio is over 20; preferably, the characteristic ratio is over 30, for example .the characteristic ratio is over 50.
[0024] According to one embodiment (figures 1 and la), the main body 4 comprises a rectilinear section 6, preferably connected to a curvilinear section 8, for example such as
to wind in coils 10 around itself.
[0.025] Preferably, the main axis X of the main body 4 lies on a single imaginary plane.
[0026] Preferably, moreover, the curvilinear section 8 is in contact with the supporting plate 2.
[0027] According to a further embodiment (figure 2), the main body 4 comprises, starting from the free end, a rectilinear section 6, a subsequent curvilinear section 8, a subsequent further rectilinear section 12 and a subsequent final curvilinear section 14, in contact with the supporting plate 2, in turn provided with a free end.
[0028] According to yet further embodiments, the device 1 comprises a plurality of main bodies 4, for example fitted to the same supporting plate 2.
[0029] For example, according to one of such embodiments (figure 3) , two main bodies 4, 4' are fitted to the same supporting plate 2, preferably in such a way that the respective main axes X, X' lie on separate imaginary planes, for example incident.
[0030] According to further embodiments, the imaginary planes are parallel and separate.
[0031] According to a further embodiment (figure 4)., the main body 4 is annular and closed; in other words, the main axis X is a closed line, for example broken, with rectilinear and/or curvilinear sections.
[0032] For example, according to one of such embodiments" the ' main body 4 comprises a primary portion 20, having its own curvilinear axis, and a secondary portion 22, also having its own curvilinear axis, joined at its ends to the respective ends of the primary portion 20. The secondary portion 22 is joined to the supporting plate 2.
[0033] The axis of the primary portion 20 lies on a first imaginary plane and the axis of the secondary portion 22 lies on a second imaginary plane; the two imaginary planes are incident, for example orthogonal.
[0034] Preferably, the primary portion 20 of the main body 4 is concave on the side facing the supporting plate 2.
[0035] According to further embodiments (figures 5 and 5a) , the main body 4 is provided with ends both joined at the head to the supporting plate 2. In other words, the main body 4 forms a ring, missing a section, projecting from the supporting plate 2.
[0036] For example, according to one of such embodiments, the main body 4 is fitted with end extremities 30, 32 both projecting from the supporting plate 2.
[0037] For example, the main body 4 is circular thoroidal, ellipsoidal or polygonal, and the cross-section is in turn circular, ellipsoidal or polygonal.
[0038] Preferably, moreover, the main axis X of the main body 4 lies on an imaginary plane incident to the plane
of the supporting plate 2, for example forming an acute or obtuse or right angle.
[0039] According to further embodiments, a lighting assembly comprises a plurality of lighting devices-, .for example provided with respective main bodies ringed together ..
[0040] The lighting device 1 further comprises at least one light source, for example composed of a plurality of LEDs, housed in the main body 4.
[0041] For example, the main body 4 comprises an inner compartment and a screen 40 which covers it, transparent to . the light emitted by the light source.
[0042] Preferably, the screen is made in plastic material, for example methacrylate.
[0043] Preferably, . the screen 40 faces towards the supporting plate 2, so that the lighting device provides indirect light.
[0044] According to embodiment variations, the screen is opposite the supporting plate, to make lighting devices providing direct light.
[0045] For example, in one embodiment (figure 4), the screen 40 is fitted to the primary portion of the main body 4.
[0046] The main body 4 further comprises a frame, composed of the part remaining over the screen 40. Ithe frame is
preferably opaque to the light emitted by the light source .
[0047] According to some embodiments, the frame of the main body 4 and/or the supporting plate is made in metallic material, for example in aluminium. ■ ./v;
[0048] According to other embodiment's, the frame of the main body and/or the supporting plate is made of plaster, reinforced plaster or plasterboard.
[0049] In embodiments of the invention, the supporting plate is suitable to be recessed in the wall, preferably concealed, so that only the main body projects from the wall, with considerable and appreciable aesthetic effects (figure 5, 6, 6a and 7) .
[0050] Innovatively,' the lighting device according to the present invention is of considerable aesthetic appeal, is particularly functional in lighting rooms and is simple to install.
[0051] Advantageously, moreover, the device is a very simple shape, recalling basic geometric elements.
[0052] Advantageously, moreover, the device has a subtle shape and lines, such as not to overburden the surrounding environment.
[0053] According to a further advantageous aspect, the device, according to some embodiments, leaves only the characteristic aesthetic elements on view.
[0054] It is clear that a person skilled in the art may make modifications to the lighting device described above so as to satisfy contingent requirements, all contained within the sphere of protection as defined by the appended claims.
Claims
1. Lighting device (1) comprising:
- a supporting plate (2);
- at least a main body (4) having a main extension along a -main axis (X) and tubular cross section reduced with respect to the length of the body, having an inner compartment protruding from the supporting plate;
- at least a light source housed in the inner compartment of the main body (4).
2. Device according to the claim 1, wherein the characteristic relationship between the length of the main body and the characteristic dimension of the section is above 10, preferably above 20, preferably above 30, preferably above 50.
3. Device according to the claim 1 or 2, wherein the light source consists of a plurality of LEDs .
4. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the section of the main body (4) is circular or ellipsoidal or polygonal.
5. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising a frame and a screen (40) which can be fitted to the frame, said screen being made to cover the inner compartment and transparent to the light of the light source.
6. Device according to the claim 5, wherein the screen is turned towards the supporting plate (2) .
7..., Device according to the claim 5 or 6, wherein, the frame, and/or the plate are made of metal material, e.g.,, aluminium, or of plastic material opaque to the light .
8. Device according to the claim 5 or 6, wherein the frame and/or the plate are made of plaster, reinforced plaster or plasterboard.
9. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the plate is suitable for being recessed in a lighting device support wall.
10. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the main axis (X) of the main body comprises rectilinear and/or curvilinear sections.
11. Device according to any one of the preceding claims wherein the main axis (X) lies on a single imaginary plane.
12. Device according to any one of the claims from 1 ; to 10, wherein the main body (4) comprises a primary portion (20) having an own axis and a secondary portion (22) having an own axis, wherein said axes lie on distinct and incident imaginary planes, e.g., at right angles.
13. Device according to the claim 12, wherein the screen (40) is fitted to the primary portion (20).
14. Device according to the claim 12 or 13, wherein the primary portion (20) is concave towards the supporting plate ( 2.
15.. Device according to any of the claims from 12 to 14, wherein the secondary portion (20) is fastened to the supporting plate (2), in intermediate position.
16. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the main axis (X) forms a closed line, broken and/or with curvilinear sections.
17. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the main body (4) has at least two end extremities (30,32) protruding from the supporting plate (2), thereby forming a ring element.
18. Device according to the claim 17, wherein the ring element is circular, ellipsoidal or polygonal.
19. Device according to the claim 18, wherein the main axis (X) of the main body (4) lies on a single imaginary plane incident with the supporting plate (2).
20. Lighting device according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising a plurality of main bodies (4,4') connected to the same supporting plate (2).
21. Lighting assembly .comprising a plurality of lighting devices (1) made according to any one of the preceding claims.
22. Lighting assembly according to the claim 21, wherein the main bodies (4) of the lighting devices (1) are ringed together.
