Abstract

A panel comprises: a framework backing panel formed from a material having a density of less than 4000kg.m-3; a facing on the exposed side formed from a material having a density of less than 4000kg.m-3; and, an insulation material housed within the framework backing panel and disposed to protect the framework, at least in part, from a fire on the exposed side of the panel and in which part at least of the framework backing panel and/or the facing is formed from a material that cannot maintain structural integrity when exposed to 1000ºC or more.
