Abstract
The present invention provides a method and femtocell base station for switching an operation mode. The method includes: determining the operation mode adopted by the femtocell base station, wherein the operation mode includes a first work mode that operates in first power and the second operation mode that operates in second power and the second power is less than the first power; and according to the determined operation mode, controlling transmission power of the femtocell base station so that the femtocell base station operates in the first work mode or in the second work mode. The femtocell base station includes a determination module for determining an operation mode adopted by the femtocell base station; a power controlling module for controlling transmission power of the femtocell base station according to the determined operation mode. The method and femtocell base station for switching operation mode in the present invention can switch freely work mode of the femtocell base station so that more choice and convenience can be provided to the user.
