Abstract

Unpleasant odors are usually masked using perfumes but their cause is not tackled. The invention relates to special perfume compositions which contain oxidation agents and scents from selected scent classes which cannot only mask but also reduce the unpleasant odor. These perfume compositions may produce long-lasting fragrances and effectively control unpleasant odors and even prevent them from recurring. The invention further relates to fragrance dispensing systems which contain the corresponding perfume compositions and to a method for reducing unpleasant odors.

Description

The invention is in the field of perfume compositions of the kind used, for example, in the field of room scenting or scenting, or which can generally be used to reduce bad smells. In particular, the invention relates to a specific perfume composition comprising oxidizing agents. It further relates to a scent delivery system and a method for reducing bad odors in the room air. It also relates to the use of said perfume composition for the reduction of bad odors.
Bad smells, ie smells that are perceived by the majority of people as unpleasant, are a wide problem area with which consumers are confronted. Bad odors occur e.g. in the kitchen, such as fish odor or in the toilet area, as a result of human excretion. Bad smells can be a result of human exhalations, e.g. the smell of sweat. Bad odors arise e.g. also in combustion processes, e.g. tobacco in smoking areas or they are e.g. introduced by animals, such as dogs or cats, which are kept with people in the home.
In order to combat bad smells, fragrances are often used which mask the bad smell, ie completely or at least partially cover it, so that the sensory impression is reduced or covered. The masking, reducing or covering the bad smell is only an aid measure, because ultimately the cause of the bad smell is not addressed, but the bad smell is only hidden by the masking.
WO2007054177A1 discloses detergents or cleaners or cosmetics containing oxidizing agents which comprise a fragrance composition which consists predominantly of certain classes of substance. However, no perfume oils containing oxidizing agents are described there. US 2005/0008531 A1 describes a process for the removal of bad odors, in which a composition of odor reducer, humectant and liquid carrier is brought into contact with the environment via a dispensing system.
There was therefore a need for perfumes which have an improved odor control effect. This object is achieved by the subject matter of the invention, namely a perfume composition comprising oxidizing agent and> 10 wt .-%, preferably> 20 wt .-%, in particular> 30 wt .-% fragrances, wherein at least 80 wt .-% of the total fragrances are selected from such fragrances, which are at least one of the following classes of substances assigned
- primäre, sekundäre und tertiäre gesättigte Alkohole,  primary, secondary and tertiary saturated alcohols,
- gesättigte Ester,  saturated esters,
- gesättigte Ether,  saturated ethers,
- Aromaten mit gesättigten Substituenten,  - aromatics with saturated substituents,
- Nitrile,  - nitriles,
- gesättigte Acetale  - saturated acetals
-gesättigte Halbacetale. -saturated hemiacetals.
These perfume compositions not only allow the masking of bad smells, but at the same time the reduction or even elimination of the bad smell. The formation of bad smell is also counteracted. As a result, a particularly pleasant and long-lasting fragrance can be generated. These perfume compositions are storage stable. These perfume compositions can be used as odor-improving agents in technical products, in air fresheners or in room sprays, as well as in consumer products such as detergents or cleaners, cosmetics, adhesives. They are stable in such consumption products einarbeitbar.
Komplexbildner. In addition to the fragrances and oxidizing agent (s), the perfume composition may preferably also contain auxiliaries, in particular solvents. Suitable solvents are, in particular, dipropylene glycol, dowanol, isopropyl myristate, paraffin, propylene glycol, castor oil and / or triazine. Other suitable adjuvants are e.g. Complexing agent.

Another object of the present invention is a scent delivery system for deodorization and / or scenting of rooms (especially room freshener, room spray, air freshener), which contains a perfume composition according to the invention.
If the fragrance delivery system according to the invention comprises at least one delivery element and / or a container filled with the active ingredient formulation (ie perfume composition according to the invention), then a preferred embodiment of the invention is present. Suitable delivery elements are all devices which are capable of delivering a drug substance (ie the perfume composition according to the invention) to the environment of the metering device. The delivery elements can be selected, for example, from the group of nozzles, spray heads, drop dispensers, semipermeable membranes, foam spray heads, piezo elements, porous elements, wick systems, capillary systems, nebulizers, ultrasonic nebulizers, ionization melters, heaters, etc.
For dispensing active ingredients (i.e., the perfume composition of the present invention) into the toilet or the inside toilet bowl surfaces, nozzles, spray heads, drop dispensers, foam spray heads, piezo elements, and the like are particularly suitable.
In particular, nozzles, atomizers, spray heads, piezo elements, semipermeable membranes, sintered plates, porous elements, wick systems and the like are suitable for delivering the preparation of active substance (i.e. the perfume composition according to the invention) into the air.
The delivery elements may have the same or different spray cone shapes upon delivery of the formulations (i.e., the perfume composition of the present invention). For example, it is conceivable that one delivery element generates a jet with a rather punctiform application surface, while another delivery element generates a flat application field. Of course, various combinations of different spray cone shapes are conceivable.
The delivery member may further provide means for electrostatically charging drug droplets thereby enhancing the wetting, adherence and / or distribution of the active ingredient (i.e., the perfume composition of the invention) on a surface and / or in the air.
Furthermore, the dispensing element may be configured as a ventilator, which may be configured either by suction of bad odors to improve the air or to optimize distribution of active ingredient (i.e., the perfume composition of the invention) into the room air or toilet bowl.
In particular, the delivery elements may be configured such that one or more agents are delivered in different directions from each other.
The invention is particularly suitable for dimensionally stable containers such as cups, cans, cartridges, cartridges, plastic or glass bottles, canisters, cans, boxes, drums or tubes, can also be used for flexible containers such as bags or sacks, for example, if they are in accordance with the bag-in-bottle principle can be used.
In particular, a container can also comprise a plurality of chambers which can be filled with different compositions from each other. It is also conceivable that a plurality of containers to a unit, for example, a cartridge is arranged.

The development over time of the fragrance impression of the perfume compositions was evaluated over 4 weeks at 25 ° C by abrasion by three perfumers. It was found that the perfume of the invention (corresponds to perfume composition 1 with an additional 10 wt .-% peroctanoic acid, wt .-% based on the perfume composition without peroctanoic acid) does not change, the Vergleichbeipiel (corresponds to perfume composition 2 with an additional 10 wt .-% peroctanoic acid, wt .-% based on the perfume composition without Peroctansäu- re) but an unpleasant, altered smell assumes.
Anwendungsbeispiel: Example of use:
A test vessel of 35 l volume was provided with a 1 cm opening for connection of a tube with which an olfactory control of the atmosphere therein could take place. The container could be quickly opened using a lateral flap near the bottom and equipped with examination media (see below).
The experiment took place at room temperature under normal pressure. Two containers of identical design were used. Into the cleaned and odorless containers, a Petri dish was placed with 5 ml of a 10% hexane solution (in polyethylene glycol 2000). After one hour, the Petri dish was removed with the hexanal. After 30 minutes, the olfactory control of the two containers each gave an intense odor of hexanal. Using a spray bottle, a test solution (see below) was finely distributed into one of the test containers. In each case, a spray was produced with a volume of 0, 1 ml. Immediately after the spraying and at the intervals shown in the table, an evaluation of the odor intensity in the chamber was made. The scale of the odor intensity ranges from strong (value 6) to barely perceptible (value 1). The assessment was made by people with an olfactory education.
Prüflösung entspricht Parfümzusammensetzung 1 mit zusätzlich 10 Gew.-% Peroctansäure, Gew.-Test solution corresponds to perfume composition 1 with additionally 10% by weight of peroctanoic acid, by weight.
