Abstract

Provided is a porous support comprising a polymer derived from polyamic acid or a polymer derived from polyimide. The porous support has micro-pores as well as pico-pores present in the polymer derived from the polyamic acid, or pico-pores present in the polymer derived from the polyimide. The polyamic acid and the polyimide comprise repeating units produced from an aromatic diamine and dianhydride containing at least one functional group which is present at the ortho position with respect to an amine group.
