Abstract

The present invention relates to a continuously variable transmission which variably performs speed change operations among a low speed, a medium speed, and a high speed by means of a control gear using the lever principle under the condition in which an input side gear and an output side gear are constantly engaged with each other. The continuously variable transmission of the present invention comprises: a housing (500); an input unit (I) arranged within the housing (500) to receive rotating power from an external source; an output unit (O) arranged within the housing (500) to transmit the power from the input unit (I) and output the transmitted power to the outside; and a variable control unit interposed between the input unit (I) and the output unit (O) to control acceleration/deceleration. According to the present invention, the input side and the output side are constituted by combinations of a plurality of gears, and the lever principle is applied to the control gear arranged in the portion connected from the input side to the output side so that the control gear can rotate fast via a small amount of force, and speed change operations among a low speed, a medium speed and a high speed can be easily performed.
