Abstract

본 발명은 밀폐된 내부공간 내에 열매체를 저장한 상태에서 주기적으로 가열과 냉각을 연속적으로 가해줌으로써 발생되는 압력 변화를 이용하여 동력이 발생되도록 하는 스털링 엔진을 제공한다. 이와 같은 스털링 엔진은 하우징(20)의 내부공간(21)내에서 배플(40)에 의해 구획된 공간에 밀폐되어 수용되는 열매체의 팽창과 수축을 통해 출력축(12)을 회전시키는 동력을 발생시킨다. 따라서, 종래기술에 비해 상대적으로 쉽게 제작할 수 있도록 하고, 원동력을 발생하기 위한 열매체의 관리 및 유지보수가 쉽게 된다. 또한, 열의 순환구조가 단순하게 되므로, 종래기술의 스털링 엔진에 비해 상대적으로 높은 열효율을 기대할 수 있다.
