Definitions
- the invention relates to a pneumatic vehicle tire having two or more belt layers which have an intersecting strength element at an angle and a belt bandage having single or multi-layer reinforcing elements.
- Radial pneumatic tires have u.a. a belt and often a belt bandage on.
- the belt consisting of two or more belt layers crossing at an angle provides the rigidity of the tread in the longitudinal and transverse directions. This is used when driving the power transmission, improves the side guide and reduces the abrasion of the tire.
- Belt bandage essentially serves to additionally absorb forces in the circumferential direction, for example to limit the tire growth due to centrifugal forces during operation of the tire.
- the belt bandage may cover the belt, or else the belt bandage as a whole or individual bandage layers may be located between or under the belt plies.
- Belt layers installed in passenger car tires often have steel cords of construction 2 x 0.30 mm.
- the cord construction 2 x 0.30 mm means that two wires of 0.30 mm diameter twisted together to form a cord are so that the cord has a diameter of about 0.60 mm.
- Such a belt layer is constructed so that it has a tension greater than 17,500 N per dm width at a predetermined elongation of 1%.
- a disadvantage of steel cords as strength carrier of the belt layer is that steel is susceptible to corrosion when the tread is pierced to a belt layer and moisture penetrates.
- the adhesive system between steel and rubber is complex and expensive, among other things because the steel cords must be embedded in brass for better adhesion.
- Belt bandages installed in passenger car tires often have one or two layers of 940x2 rubberized nylon cords at 80 epdm.
- Such a belt bandage is constructed such that it builds up a force of less than or equal to about 1500 N per dm width at a predetermined elongation of 1% in the direction of Kordlijnserstreckung.
- Nylon is often used because this material has heat shrinkage, that is, it shrinks when heated. This is advantageous both in the vulcanization of the tire as well as the high-speed operation, because the belt bandage then promotes the cohesion of the belt package. In addition, this prevents, however, that the belt bandage when operating device in compression, which is detrimental to their durability fatigue resistance and fractures of the
- non-steel materials such as rayon, glass or aramid as
- Insert reinforcement of the belt layer have a better and simpler bonding system to rubber than steel to rubber. However, these materials have a lower modulus than steel, so that less tension can be built up in conventional constructions at a given elongation and therefore disadvantages in the performance of the tire have occurred.
- the tire has undesirably "grown" under operating air pressure and has an unfavorable performance
- the object is achieved by the strengthening of at least one belt layer of a non-metallic material, which within the belt layer in
- each belt ply at a given elongation of 1% in the direction of the reinforcing member longitudinal extension has a tension ⁇ 17,500 N by dm width, wherein the reinforcing elements of the belt layers an angle of 18 ° to 45 ° with the
- the reinforcing elements of the belt bandage are made of a non-metallic material and have a heat shrinkage and wherein the belt bandage at a predetermined elongation of 1% has a total tension> 2,000 N dm width.
- non-metallic reinforcing elements are used in the belt layers, whose reduced modulus is compensated by the comparatively high force build-up when the belt bandage is stretched. It is achieved a high performance, since in the operation of the tire a suitable dynamic ground contact patch is obtained. A complex adhesive system, as required for steel cords, is not necessary.
- the non-metallic reinforcing member of the belt ply does not tend to corrode when punctured, thereby improving the durability of the pneumatic vehicle tire.
- the dielectric strength of the belt layer is higher than in belt layers with steel reinforcements comparable reduced power structure at a given elongation, which also improves the durability of the pneumatic vehicle tire.
- the use of non-metallic reinforcements in the belt layers also advantageously reduces the weight of the pneumatic vehicle tire.
- the reinforcements of the belt layers can be made of polyester, rayon, lyocell, PVA, PEN, POK, Vectran, aramid, glass fiber or natural fibers such as sisal, flax, hemp, jute, cotton or ramie.
- the strength member cords of rayon or lyocell ® Preferably, the strength member cords of rayon or lyocell ®.
- the reinforcements of the belt bandage are preferably materials from the classes polyester or nylon. It is also possible to use hybrid constructions made of rayon, lyocell, PVA, PEN, POK, Vectran or aramid with polyester or nylon. It is essential that at least one material of the reinforcement
- the belt bandage may be spooled and have a patchy winding pattern such that the effective cord density is reduced.
- the tire according to the invention is reduced in weight, the use in comparatively heavy run-flat tires, such as in an SSR tire or a tire with a self-adhesive viscous sealing layer arranged radially inwardly of the tire inner layer, is suitable.
- SSR tires are tires with reinforcing profiles in the
- Tires with a sealing layer which is located between the shoulders under the tread on the inner tire layer, are characterized in that when a foreign body, the tread of the pneumatic vehicle tire penetrated, this is enclosed by the sealing layer and a possible
- Air loss is prevented by quasi-immediate sealing.
- a preferred example of a construction according to the invention of a tire car tire of the tire dimension 225/45 R 17 has a 2-ply belt of rayon cords of
- Each belt layer has a predetermined elongation of 1% in
- a tension of about 3,500 N per dm width and the belt bandage has a predetermined strain of 1%, a tension of about 2,000 N per dm width.
- a suitable dynamic ground contact patch is obtained.
- the pneumatic vehicle tire according to the invention may be a passenger car, van, or a light truck pneumatic tire.
- a vehicle pneumatic tire according to the invention in its most general form has two or more belt layers crossing at an angle and having a strength carrier with one or more layers, wherein the reinforcements of the belt layers and the belt bandage are arranged substantially parallel and spaced from one another embedded in rubber material, and wherein each belt ply at a given elongation of 1% in the direction of
- Reinforcement longitudinal extent has a tension ⁇ 17,500 N by dm width, and wherein the reinforcing elements of the belt layers include an angle of 18 ° to 45 ° with the circumferential direction of the tire, and wherein the strength of the carrier
- Belt bandage are arranged within the reinforcement layer approximately in the tire circumferential direction and are made of a material which has a heat shrink, and wherein the belt bandage has a total tension of> 2,000 N per dm width for a given elongation of 1%.
