Abstract
The invention relates to a process and device for producing radionuclides and can be used for the production of Мо-99. The process comprises filling a reactor with a fuel solution of uranyl sulfate, bringing the reactor up to power, producing Мо-99 in the fuel solution, shutting down the reactor, holding the fuel solution for the decomposition of short-life radionuclides, and sorbing the Мо-99 from the solution. Once the reactor has been shut down, the fuel solution is drained off into a nuclear-safe reservoir, and the fuel solution is held in the nuclear-safe reservoir. The reactor is refilled with the fuel solution, brought up to power, and Мо-99 is again produced in the fuel solution. During the time in which Мо-99 is produced in the fuel solution, the drained-off fuel solution is held in the nuclear-safe reservoir. The Мо-99 is sorbed by means of being pumped through a sorption column into a nuclear-safe conditioning reservoir. If necessary, the fuel solution is conditioned. The invention increases the productivity of a solution reactor producing Мо-99 in a discontinuous mode by reducing the downtimes of said reactor.
