Abstract

고강도, 고인성의 티타늄 합금의 제조방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 고강도, 고인성의 티타늄 합금의 제조방법은 마르텐사이트 조직을 갖는 티타늄 합금을 제공하는 단계, 및 상기 마르텐사이트 조직의 티타늄 합금을 열 및 기계적 처리에 의해 미세조직을 부분적으로 동적 구상화시키는 단계를 포함한다. 본 발명은 부분적으로 동적 구상화된 미세조직을 가지는 티타늄 합금을 제조하고 우수한 항복강도(yield strength, YS)와 균일 연신율(uniform elongation, U.EL)을 가지도록 하는 것이다. 층상형태를 가지는 미세조직에 대하여 압연방향과 변형량을 조절하여 미세한 등축 조직과 층상 조직이 동시에 존재하는 미세조직으로 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하며, 본 발명에 따르면 기존의 열처리 방법과 비교하여 항복강도 및 균일 연신율의 곱(YS×U.EL)이 향상된 티타늄 합금을 제조할 수 있다.
