Abstract
The present invention relates to a gap-measuring apparatus for an artificial knee joint. The gap-measuring apparatus of the present invention comprises: two cylinder housings arranged parallel to each other with a predetermined gap therebetween; pistons movably arranged within the respective cylinder housings; cylinder rods, each of which is mounted on one end of each of the pistons and extends outwardly from the cylinder housing; a tibia plate fixed at the cylinder housings so as to support the tibia of a patient; femur plates fixed at the respective front ends of the cylinder rods so as to support the inner and outer sides of the femur; and windows provided with markings, said windows being made of transparent materials and formed on the respective cylinder housings, and being marked with gradations for measuring the positions of the pistons. According to the present invention, the femur plates tightly contact the femur of the patient with a predetermined force by means of pneumatic pressure or hydraulic pressure, thus enabling an extension gap and a flexion gap to be accurately measured.
