More particularly, it relates to a protective device for use as a protective sleeve around a portion of a piston rod which projects from a cylinder casing of a fluid cylinder, the protective device being provided with a first end portion arranged to be fixed to or at a portion of the cylinder casing and with a second end portion arranged to be fixed to or at an end portion of the piston rod or to a portion near thereto .
  • the purpose of the protective device is, among other things, to protect the piston rod from liquid, dirt and particles that could damage seals between the piston and the cylinder as the piston rod is moved relative to the cylinder casing.
  • the protective device according to the present invention may be used for both gas cylinders and hydraulic cylinders. Both these types of fluid cylinders are provided with seals that may be damaged by dirt and particles.
  • Fluid cylinders of the kind mentioned above have very wide application in the industry. This is particularly the case with hydraulic cylinders.

Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif de protection (20) destiné à être utilisé comme manchon de protection autour d'une partie d'une tige de piston (5) qui fait saillie depuis une enveloppe de cylindre (3) d'un cylindre de fluide (1), le dispositif de protection (20) étant pourvu d'une première partie d'extrémité (22) agencée pour être fixée à l'enveloppe de cylindre (3), ou à une partie de cette dernière, et d'une seconde partie d'extrémité (26) agencée pour être fixée à la tige de piston (5), ou à une partie d'extrémité de cette dernière, le dispositif de protection (20) étant pourvu d'un dispositif de raccordement (30) qui s'étend entre la première partie d'extrémité (22) et la seconde partie d'extrémité (26), le dispositif de raccordement (30) étant agencé pour transformer un dispositif de protection en forme de feuille en un dispositif de protection en forme de manchon. La présente invention se rapporte également à un procédé d'utilisation du dispositif de protection (20).
