Definitions
- the present invention relates to the technical sector of predisposing partition walls, in particular slabs and/or panels including a glass pane, for subdividing internal environments.
- the partition walls considered in the ambit of the invention are those which usually extend from the floor to the ceiling and abut with at least one vertical side thereof a wall of the environment to be subdivided; these are, then, walls destined to perform the functions normally carried out by usual masonry walls.
- the first panel to be associated to the frame element fixed to the wall would have to be cut, taking into consideration the existing imperfection, for example between a point nearby on the floor and another nearby on the ceiling, which will not be situated on a same vertical line due to the imperfect squaring.
- the aim of the present invention is thus to provide a structure for support and correct vertical arrangement of a partition wall, in particular a partition wall using perfectly-squared modular prefabricated glass panels able to take up and/or compensate pre-existing imprecisions (errors in parallel, perpendicular, vertical and straight aspects) in masonry walls to which the partition wall is to be associated.
- the predetermined aim is attained by a structure according to the contents of claim 1 , thanks in particular to the presence of the spacer means which are configurable such as to be able to regulate and vary the position of the panels with respect to the profiled perimeter element before final and definitive blocking thereof.
- the proposed structure enables a frontal mounting of the glass panels and retaining the panels in position, so that spacer means can be applied before they are definitively blocked.
- the structure is advantageously constructed such that once set up in place it defines a support frame of the wall which exhibits compact and extremely small dimensions if compared with the prior art, to the advantage of the aesthetic effect.
- the proposed structure includes details which guarantee the desired heat and acoustic insulation.
- the structure proposed by the present invention comprises the possibility of realising a partition wall provided with a chamber to which a hinged door can be associated, of a conventional hollow- panelled type or glass.
- figure 1 is an extremely schematic and essential illustration in exploded view of the various elements constituting the structure of the invention and a relative glass panel
- figure 2 is a schematic frontal view of the structure of the invention once the installation thereof has been completed, and the relative partition wall supported thereby

- 1 denotes a structure of the invention for supporting and correct vertical installation of a partition wall, the wall being constituted by at least a panel P, for example a glazed panel, to be associated to at least a wall element M of an internal environment.
- the wall element M can be constituted by a vertical wall, or by a ceiling or floor.
- the structure 1 comprises at least a perimeter section 10 which is positionable and fixable, in known ways, to the wall element M.
- a perimeter section 10 which is positionable and fixable, in known ways, to the wall element M.
- four perimeter elements 10 can be used, one being positionable and fixable to the floor, another to the ceiling and two perimeter elements at the vertical elements of the masonry wall (vertical walls) (see figure 1).
- the structure 1 also comprises a support module 20 which is provided such as to receive a portion P1 of a side of a glazed panel P used for realising the partition wall, and for blocking thereof.
- the panel P is prefabricated with standard predetermined dimensions.
- the support module 20 is associable and fixable to the perimeter elements 10 and its position can be adjusted before receiving the portion P1 of the side of the panel P for the following relative blocking thereof, the portion P1 exhibiting an external edge B facing towards the perimeter profile 10 (see for example figures 10B and 10C).
- the structure 1 comprises use of at least a support module 20, preferably two support modules 20, for each of the perimeter elements used.
- the structure 1 of the present invention comprises special spacer means 30 which are associable and fixable to the perimeter section 10 in proximity or by a flank of the support module 20.
- the spacer means 30 exhibit at least a surface 31 for abutting the external edge B of the portion P1 of the side of the panel P (see for example figure 8) and are configurable such that the abutting surface 31 can abut the external edge B of the panel P, once the portion P1 has been associated to the support module 20.
- the spacer means 30 further advantageously are also configurable in such a way as to be able to vary the distance between the abutting surface 31 and the perimeter section 10, with a consequent adjustment of the distance of the external edge B and thus of the panel P from the perimeter section 10 before final blocking thereof by means of the support module 20.
- the structure 1 includes use of at least a single unit of spacer means 30 associable to a single support model 20, i.e. preferably two units of spacer means 30 associable to two support modules 20 for each perimeter section 10.
- the presence of the spacer means 30 which can be configurable and regulatable such as to be able to vary and adjust the distance between the abutting surface 31 of the external edge B of a side of the panel P and the perimeter section 10 advantageously enables a compensating of any imperfections present in the wall element M to which the perimeter section 10 has been fixed.
- the wall element M is constituted by a vertical masonry wall
- the walls not perfectly perpendicular (not squared) to the floor (perpendicularity error) for example the vertical wall tends to distance from the vertical with respect to the room to be closed off using the panel P
- the perimeter section 10 once made solid and fastened to the wall, will exhibit the same imperfection.
- a point of the perimeter section 10 in proximity of the floor will not be aligned on the same vertical line as a point of the profile 10 which is in proximity of the ceiling.
- the panel P once associated to the support modules 20, would exhibit one side, the side facing the defective vertical wall, inclined towards the wall.
- the external edge B of the side of the panel associated to the element 10 in proximity of the point close to the ceiling is distanced therefrom, and therefore from the masonry wall element M, causing the side of the panel to take on a perfectly vertical configuration that is perpendicular to the floor and thus compensating for the imprecision in perpendicularity of the wall element M.
- the above-mentioned perimeter section 10, illustrated in figure 3 is constituted by an extruded element made of aluminium and having a prevalently longitudinal development.
- the two small walls 12, 13 are inverted-L-shaped such as to define a free space S between them which can be used to fasten the support module 20 to the element 10.
- the perimeter section 10 is also provided at ends of the walls 12, 13 opposite the base 11 , with projections 14 for coupling and centring with the support module 20.
- the support module 20, illustrated in detail in figures 4A, 4B and 5, is constituted by an element made of extruded aluminium forming a central body 21 exhibiting, on the coupling side thereof with the perimeter section 10, at least an abutting surface 23 for resting to the side of the inverted L-shaped walls 12, 13 opposite the base 11 of the perimeter section 10, and recesses 24 having an appropriate shape such as to receive, in contacting coupling, the projections 14 of the perimeter section 10.
- the support module 20 For supporting the panel, the support module 20 exhibits a first lateral containing wall 25 of a first surface F1 of the portion P1 of the panel P, which has a fixed configuration on the central body (21), and a second wall 26, associable to the central body 21 and having a variable configuration with respect thereto, for laterally containing a second surface F2 of the portion P1 of the panel P and for blocking the panel P.
- the central body 21 of the support module 20 further comprises a seating 27 for couplingly receiving a specially-shaped end 260 of the second wall 26; means 270 are associated to the second wall 26 for regulating and stabilising the relative orientation with respect to the central body 21 and the first wall 25 of the support module 20.
- the central body 21 is also provided with at least a through-hole 22 which can be used for fastening the support module 20 to the perimeter section 10.
- a blocking screw 280 is insertable in the through-hole 22 of the central body 21 , which blocking screw 280 is destined to couple with a corresponding threaded hole afforded in a block 290 positioned in the free space S present in the profiled perimeter section 10.
- the spacer means 30 of the structure 1 of the invention comprise a base element 32 (visible in detail in figure 6A) couplable to the perimeter section 10, and two blocks 36, 37 (one of which is visible in detail in figure 6B).
- the peculiarity of the spacer means 30 consists in the fact that the two blocks 36, 37 are coupled to the base element 32 relatively slidably, and each of the two blocks 36, 37 exhibits a relative flat external part 360, 370 identifying the abutting surface 31 of the external edge B of the portion P1 of the side of the panel P.
- the base element 32 of the spacer means 30 is shaped, on the coupling side with the perimeter section 10, such as to be insertable between the walls 12, 13 of the perimeter section 10, and occupy the free space S.
- the base element 23, on the coupling side with the perimeter section 10, is peripherally provided with suitable projections 33 for enabling a contrasting coupling with the internal part of the walls 12, 13 facing towards the free space S.
- the base element 32 is shaped, on the opposite side to the coupling side with the perimeter section 10, such as to be able to receive the two blocks 36, 37 in a slide-coupling and to exhibit guide planes 34, 35 that are inclined for sliding of the two blocks 36, 37.
- the base element 32 is shaped such as to exhibit two opposite pairs of guide planes 34, 35, with the guide planes 34 of a first pair 34 which converge towards the guide planes 35 of the second pair 35 in order to identify a sort of wedge or cusp.
- the special cusp conformation of the base element 32 Apart from providing a guide plane for the sliding of the two blocks 36, 37, the special cusp conformation of the base element 32, thanks to the presence of the above-mentioned pairs 34, 35 of inclined planes, enables a thrust to be exerted thereon in a substantially transversal direction to the displacement direction thereof, which thrust is then transmitted by the blocks 36, 37, via the relative flat external parts 360, 370, to the glazed panel P following contact with the external edge B thereof; this is very important as it gives maximum stability to the panel once the structure has been completed, as will be more fully explained in the following.
- the base element 32 exhibits, on the opposite side to the coupling side with the perimeter section 10, a pair of dovetail profiles 38, 39 for slidable coupling with each of the two blocks 36, 37.
- each of the two blocks 36, 37 exhibits a relative corresponding shaped element 362 for slidably coupling with the dovetail elements 38, 39 of the base element 32 and exhibits a relative through-hole 361 , 371 for housing an organ 40 for regulating the sliding thereof on the blocks 36, 37 with respect to the base element 32.
- the adjusting member 40 is constituted by a threaded screw and at least one of the two through-holes 361 , 371 present in the blocks 36, 37 is threaded with a profile corresponding to the profile of the adjusting member 40.
- sequence of figures 7A, 7B, 7C illustrates a succession of regulating stages in which the two blocks 36, 37 are forced by the adjusting member 40 to near one another, with a consequent sliding on the inclined guide planes 34, 35 which causes them to distance from the coupling side of the base element 32 with the perimeter profile 10.
- the special shaping of the base element (32), in a cusp- or wedge-shape, by means of the two opposite pairs 34, 35 of inclined guide planes, means that the reciprocal nearing of the two blocks 36, 37 consequently produces not only an adjustment and/or variation in the position of the panel P with respect to the perimeter section 10, and therefore with respect to the wall element M, but also, at the same time, it exerts a thrust action against the external edge B of the panel P.
- the panel is compressed by the four sides and forced to maintain the position obtained following the regulation of the position of the blocks 36, 37 of the various spacer means 30 via the relative adjusting members 40.
- This advantageously enables an increase in the stability of the panel; indeed the panel will be gripped and supported by the support modules 20, by means of the relative edges 25, 26 and forced to maintain the position assumed thanks to the contemporaneous thrust action exerted by the blocks 36, 37 of the spacer means 30 on the relative four sides.
- the support element 20 is provided with prominences 80, 81 , externally and opposite the central body 21 , for coupling with special cladding and covering elements 85.
- the cladding element 85 comprise housings 86 for positioning glass- blocking seals 87 (see figure 10C), which can be used for improving the heat and/or acoustic insulation.
- the structure of the invention advantageously enables the elements and components thereof which are exclusively aimed at supporting and regulating the position of the panel to be covered such as to make them invisible from the outside and give an overall pleasant appearance to the invention.
- the structure of the invention comprises the use of special perimeter elements to be vertically arranged.
- the structure might have a perimeter element 11 to be fixed to a vertical wall element, having a shape that corresponds to the perimeter elements described herein above, but in which a through-hole
- the structure will also be provided with a specific perimeter element 115, illustrated in figure 11 B, conformed on one side in such a way as to provide a U-shaped seating 116 for housing a lateral portion of a glazed panel P, and, on the other side, a housing 117 having such a shape as to be able to house and provide an abutment for the closing element 118 of the door 114 lock.
- the structure of the invention is applied in the following way.
- the perimeter section 10 is fixed on the relative wall element M (or vertical wall or floor or ceiling).
- one or more support modules 20 are associated to the perimeter profile 20.
- the support modules 20, at first without the second edge 26, are positioned and centred on the perimeter profile 10 by coupling of the relative recesses 24 of the walls 12, 13 thereof (see for example figure 10A).
- the support module 20 is then fixed to the perimeter section 10 by first inserting the block 290 in the free space S of perimeter section 10 at the through-hole 22 of the central body 21 of the support module 20, proceeding to insertion of the blocking screw 280 and the consequent screwing for the definitive blocking of the position of the support module 20.
- the support modules 20 are all mounted and fixed such as to exhibit the relative first fixed edges 25 on a same side.
- the support modules 20 associated to the various perimeter elements 10 have to be mounted in a same direction, i.e. with the relative first fixed edges 25 orientated and arranged in a same direction (either all before or all behind, looking frontally at the chamber to be closed off with the glazed panels).
- the operators proceed to the inserting of the second edge 26 of the seating 27, adjusting the orientation thereof such that it rests on the second surface F2 of the panel P.
- the position of the second edge 26 is regulated by using the stabilising means 270, such that the panel P is supported, but can slide between the two edges 25, 26.
- the spacer means 30 are then predisposed on the perimeter section 10 by a side of corresponding support modules 20.
- the relative position of the two blocks 36, 37 is adjusted up to when the flat external part 360, 370, i.e. the abutting surface 31 , is resting against the external edge B of the panel P. Then the adjusting member 40 is screwed up to adjusting the panel P into the desired position.
- the second edge 26 of the support module 20 is definitively stabilised against the second surface F2 of the panel P, such that it is stably gripped and supported between the two edges 25, 26.
- the structure, thus predisposed, is then completed with the insertion of the cladding elements 85 and the glass-retaining seals 87.
- the special presence of the spacer means 30, and the possibility of configuring and adjusting the position of the abutting surface 31 of the edge of the panel to the perimeter element, associated to the wall element, enable immediate and easy compensation for any imperfections and imprecisions (of shape, parallelism, perpendicularity etc.) present therein.
- the fact of providing the spacer means 30 separate and independent with respect to the support module 20 of the panel, in the form and structure as described herein above, enables realising the support modules 20 with a lower and modest height. This enables, for example, realisation of a structure which exhibits a visible thickness of about 35 mm, and is therefore not very large and exudes a pleasant aesthetic appearance.
