Abstract

The invention relates to a thermal storage device comprising heat storage material housed in a housing and a heat exchanger which can be cross-flown by a fluid and which is arranged in the heat storage material. Said storage device is subdivided into a plurality of individual and separate transportable storage modules which comprise respectively a modular housing, modular heat exchanger material which is arranged in the modular housing and modular heat exchangers which are arranged in the modular heat exchanger material. The individual modular heat exchangers of the storage module are connected together such that they can be cross-flown together by the fluid.
