Abstract

The invention relates to a closure machine (1) for closing containers, in particular bottles, with closures, comprising a drive (3), a drive shaft (5) and a closure head (7). It is characterized in that the drive shaft (5) comprises at least one first partial shaft (9) having a center axis (13) and a second partial shaft (11) having a center axis (15), each partial shaft (9, 11) has at least one magnetic section (21, 23). At least one partial shaft (9, 11) can be displaced in the direction of the center axis (13, 15) thereof and/or parallel thereto with respect to the other partial shaft (9, 11) in order to implement a variable overlap between the magnetic sections (21, 23) of the partial shafts (9, 11) and therefore a variable transmittable torque, so that, in a first functional position, the magnetic sections (21, 23) of the at least two partial shafts (9, 11) cooperate with one another and a maximum torque can be transmitted from one partial shaft (9, 11) to the other partial shaft (9, 11), and in a second functional position, the magnetic sections (21, 23) of the at least two partial shafts (9, 11) act on one another such that a torque required for closing a container is not transmitted.
