Abstract
La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé permettant de corréler des adresses de serveurs de noms de domaine dans une architecture hiérarchique de serveurs de noms de domaine multi-niveau. La structure hiérarchique comprend une autorité de premier niveau pour un domaine, et une autorité de second niveau, ou plus, à laquelle l'autorité de premier niveau délègue en ce qui concerne un sous-domaine particulier associé au domaine. De préférence, l'autorité de premier niveau est basée IPv4 et au moins une autorité de second niveau est basée IPv6. L'autorité de premier niveau répond à une requête émise par un serveur de noms de domaine client en antémémoire (un « CCNS ») et retourne une réponse qui contient à la fois les autorités IPv4 et IPv6 pour le domaine. Le CCNS se trouve à une adresse source IPv4 qui est transmise à l'autorité de premier niveau conjointement avec la requête du CCNS. Selon un aspect de la présente intention, l'autorité de premier niveau code l'adresse source IPv4 du CCNS dans l'adresse de destination IPv6 d'au moins une autorité IPv6. Ensuite, lorsque le CCNS émet une requête de suivi IPv6 (en ce qui concerne le sous-domaine) à destination de l'autorité IPv6, l'autorité IPv6 connaît à la fois l'adresse IPv6 du CCNS (en vertu du fait qu'elle l'a reçue conjointement avec la requête) et l'adresse IPv4 (en vertu du décodage). L'autorité IPv6 assure la corrélation IPv4-IPv6. Avec le temps (autrement dit, lorsque d'autres CCNS émettent des requêtes), l'autorité IPv6 bâtit une base de données de ces associations IPv6-IPv4 de CCNS.
