Abstract
The present invention relates to an electrical insulation apparatus for a bearing, comprising a plurality of metal layers made of a metal material, and an insulation layer made of a glass material between the metal layers. As an electrical insulation apparatus for a bearing prone to the possibility of electrical corrosion, regardless of the type and size of the bearing, the apparatus uses a glass material insulator to enable the easy control of the thickness of an insulation-forming layer and also the easy and precise manufacture of the inner circumference and outer circumference of the bearing. Further, the apparatus can replace the conventional ceramic (metal oxide coated) insulating method and resin (resin coated) insulating method in terms of insulating performance and mechanical performance as well as manufacturing costs. The middle portion of the electrical insulation apparatus for a bearing is filled with a glass material to completely electrically separate the rotating member from the non-rotating member. The electrical insulation apparatus for a bearing may be used as a component material of a bearing housing, and may be used as an assembled component separately from a bearing or bearing housing used therewith.
