Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for processing a barre chord of a virtual guitar. The present invention has the aim of providing a method for smoothly processing a barre chord in a virtual guitar provided as an application program in a mobile communication device having a multi-touch screen. Playing a barre chord involves the index finger simultaneously pressing down on all the strings on the same fret. A touch screen recognizes, as a touched point, the exact center of a continuously connected touch region, and therefore playing the barre chord is also recognized as pressing just one point of the touch region, making it difficult to recognize the barring on the touch screen. Therefore, the method proposed by the present invention analyzes the pattern in which the index finger contacts the touch screen during barring and the pattern of guitar chords in order to play a barre chord so as to define conditions to be interpreted as cases in which barring is performed by a player, analyzes the pattern of touch points every time the locations of touch points change while playing a virtual guitar, and performs a barre chord process only when the pattern falls within the condition that requires a barre chord process. The conditions for a barre chord process can be summarized into three cases in which touch points forming a barre chord range over three or more frets, wherein the three cases include: a first case in which a touch point exists on either the third string or the fourth string at the lowest fret; a second case in which two touch points are recognized at the lowest fret and the locations of the touch points are a combination of the first and fourth strings, of the first and fifth strings, of the second and fourth strings, of the second and fifth strings, of the second and sixth strings, of third and fifth strings, or of the third and sixth strings; and a third case in which three touch points are recognized at the lowest fret. The present invention enables the playing a barre chord to be recognized in the virtual guitar having a touch screen which otherwise might not recognize a long touch region, and enables a barre chord to be more easily inputted through a simple touch input operation using barre chord processing conditions.
