Abstract

The application refers to a battery charger which comprises a power input module (1), a charging module (2), which comprises thyristors, and is connected to the power input module (1), wherein the charging module (2) is attached to the cascade driver module (4), an output filter (9) attached to the charging module (2) and discharge module (6), an output switch (10), which is connected to the output filter (9), wherein output switch (10) is connected to a power control and pre-treatment modules (12; 14), a control module (15) with its interface (16), wherein control module (15) is connected to the power input module (1), driver cascade module (4), output switch (10) and power control and pre-treatment modules (12; 14) to provide its control, whereby the charger further comprises a discharge module (6) with thyristors (Ql - Q12) connected to the power input module (1), its own cascade driver module (8) connected to control module (15), wherein separately in each of charging and discharge modules (2; 3) are at least two thyristors (Ql - Q12), which are switched parallel and opposed to each other according to the direction of current flow.
