Abstract

The invention relates to a method for treating fiber suspensions (S) in a screening device having a closed housing (2) that comprises a screen (3), where a part of the substances supplied with the fiber suspension (S) is rejected and evacuated from the screening device as an overflow (R) while another part passes the screen (3) and is evacuated as a throughflow (A). A rotor (4), whose rotational axis (33) has a radial distance (V) to the center line (32) of the housing (2), produces a rotating whirl (5) in the housing (2). The dissolving effect of the screening device is thereby increased and/or the sorting effect improved.
