Description

COVER EQUIPPED WITH INTEGRATED STIRRING AJSfD PUMPING MEANS FOR CHEMICAL PRODUCTS CONTAINED IN COMMERCIAIi CANS AND DYE-METER COOPERATING WITH A PLURALITY OF SUCH COVERS
The present invention refers to a cover equipped with integrated delivering and stirring means for chemical products, in particular paints, enamels or paintings, contained inside commercial cans. Moreover, the present invention refers to an automatic dye-meter cooperating with a plurality of such covers.
As known, typically some chemical products, such as in particular paints or paintings, are marketed inside classic tanks, cans or buckets equipped with a removable cover. In the majority of cases, above all in case of paints or paintings, such products need a prelimiary stirring before their use. Traditionally, therefore, in order to perform such stirring, it is necessary to remove the cover and perform a manual stirring or a stirring with a conventional stirrer: such known stirrers are usually composed of a rotary shaft, manually actuated by a handle, that ends with some stirring blades: such shaft can be directly inserted inside the can once having removed the cover, or through a suitable orifice obtained through the cover itself.
The prior art further proposes covers equipped with delivering means that can be arranged as replacement of the original cover in order to stir the chemical product directly inside its own commercial can. In particular, US-A-3 704 007 discloses a stirrer with a painting can equipped with a cover with a central perforation through which the rotary stirrer shaft is inserted, manually- actuated from the outside through a handle. ES-U- 200101793 discloses a stirrer that has a conical structure inside which palettes rotate, assembled on a vertical shaft that is actuated from outside the can by means of a handle.
Other covers equipped .with delivering means are disclosed in SI-A-22443 and US-A-5 251 979.
In some cases, it is also necessary, in addition to stirring, to take care of taking the product contained inside the can. The prior art provides that the product must then be poured inside a suitable tank equipped with suitable pumping means or that the suction duct of an external pump is inserted inside the can. The prior art in fact does not provide for covers equipped with delivering means that can be arranged as replacement of the original cover in order to stir the chemical product directly inside its own commercial can, and that are also equipped with their own pumping means, integrated and independent. EP-A-I 541 224 discloses a cover equipped with delivering means and provides that an orifice can be obtained on such cover, through which a suction duct of a worm-screw-type pump is inserted: also in this case, the pumping means are separated and different from cover and stirring means.
It is further known that dye meters are batching machines for preparing colouring composites, such as paints, enamels, paintings, typically comprising a plurality of storage tanks of individual components and batching and delivering devices of such components suitable to extract from the individual tanks accurate amounts of a component, depending on desired compositions, in order to come to the desired final composite. In known dye meters, therefore, it is necessary to take the various colouring composites from their own cans and pour them in their respective tanks. The prior art further proposes dye neters in which the various paints can be directly taken from their own commercial cans, but without integrated stirring and pumping systems . Instead, there are delivering devices that allow keeping the paints inside their own cans by replacing the original cover with prior art covers equipped with stirrers: such delivering devices however are not characterised by a manual delivering.
Other known delivering devices comprise a stirring system composed of a single motor and a mechanical transmission to transfer the motion on each one of the covers equipped with known delivering means: disadvantageously, however, in case of failure of such motor, all paints stocked in cans equipped with such covers are not stirred any more.
Therrefore, object of the present invention is solving the above prior art problems by providing a cover equipped with integrated delivering and stirring means for chemical products, in particular paints or paintings, that can be arranged as replacement of the original cover to stir the chemical product directly inside its own commercial can.
Another object of the present invention is providing an automatically-operating dye-meter lacking fixed tanks and cooperating with a plurality of covers equipped with integrated delivering and stirring means for chemical products, in particular paints or paintings, each one of which is arranged as replacement of a respective original cover of a commercial can containing such chemical product.
Moreover, an object of the present invention is providing an automatically-operating dye-meter lacking fixed tanks, that takes the products directly from their respective commercial cans through the above covers.
The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will appear from the following description, are obtained with a cover eguipped with integrated delivering and stirring means for chemical products, in particular paints or paintings, contained inside commercial cans as described in claim 1.
Moreover, the above and other objects and advantages of the invention are reached with an automatic dye-meter as described in claim 7.
Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variations of the present invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims .
It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) can be "made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention as appears from the enclosed claims.
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof, provided as a non- limiting example, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which: - FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the cover according to the present invention;
- FIG. 2 shows a sectional view of the cover of FIG. 1;
- FIG. 3 shows another sectional view of the cover of FIG. 1;
- FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the automatic dye-meter according to the present invention;
- FIG. 5 shows a top view of the automatic dye-meter of FIG. 4;
- FIG. 6 shows a front view of the automatic dye-meter of FIG. 4; and
- FIG. 7 shows a side view of the automatic dye-meter of FIG. 4.
With reference to FIG. 1, 2 and 3, it is possible to note that the cover 1 according to the present invention, adapted to be arranged as replacement of the original cover to stir and suck the chemical product, in particular a paint or a painting, directly inside its own commercial can 105, comprises at least one covering lid 3, obviously having shape and sizes similar to those of the original cover to be replaced, equipped with integrated pumping means 5 and stirring means 7 for the product contained inside the can 105, once such cover 1 is placed as replacement of the original cover.
Possibly, the covering lid 3 can be equipped on its perimeter with at least one handle 9 adapted to make it more comfortable and easier to use the cover 1 according to the present invention by an operator.
Moreover, in order to make the placement of the cover 1 on its respective can more reliable, the covering lid 3 can be equipped with fastening means 4 of the cover 1 itself to the upper edge of such can 105. In particular, such fastening means 4 comprise a diametrically opposite pair of fastening latches, each one of which is composed of an external actuating lever 6 connected through a suitable rotary axis 8 through the covering lid 3 to at least one rotary wing 10 suitable to engage the internal edges of the can 105, once having manually rotated the related external actuating lever 6. The maintenance of the fastening position can be guaranteed by means of the action of at least .one elastic means, such as for example at least one helical spring 12 coaxial with the rotary axis 8.
In particular, the pumping means 5 are composed of at least one pump 11 arranged below the covering lid 3 in order to have its own suction end 14 immersed inside the product, once the cover 1 is placed as replacement of the original cover, and of at least one first actuating motor 13 arranged above the covering lid 3 and adapted to actuate the operation of such pump 11 through , the covering lid 3 itself. Preferably, the pump 11 is of the type with progressive recesses of a type substantially known in the art, but it is wholly clear that any other type of pump, suitable for such purpose, can be used, without therefore departing from the scope of the present invention. Externally to the covering lid 3, the pump 11 is equipped with at least one delivery outlet 18, preferably equipped with a quick-connection system of a respective end of a suitable duct (not shown) for transporting the product sucked by the pump 11 inside the can 105.
The stirring means 7 are composed of at least one stirring blade 16 of the product arranged below the covering lid 3 to be immersed inside the product itself once the cover 1 has been placed as replacement of the original cover, and of at least one second actuating motor 17 arranged above the covering lid 3 and adapted to rotate the stirring blade 16 through a related rotation shaft passing through the covering lid 3. Preferably, the stirring blade 16 is of the type with helical development, but it is wholly evident that any other type of blade, suitable for such purpose, can be used, without therefore departing from the scope of the invention. Obviously, the first and the second actuating motor, respectively 13 and 17, are equipped with electric supply means (not shown) . In order to allow an autonomous operation of the cover 1 according to the present invention and to allow its maximum capability of moving, such electric supply means could comprise electric batteries integrated in the cover 1 and adapted to supply such motors 13, 17 with current. Alternatively, the motors 13, 17 could be equipped with at least one current outlet through which they are supplied with electric current remotely by means of a connection with cable for supplying electric current.
With reference instead to FIG. 4, 5, 6 and 7, it is possible to note that a preferred embodiment of the automatic dye-meter 100 according to the present invention lacking fixed tanks comprises at least one supporting strucure 101 internally equipped with a plurality of supporting stations 103, each one of which adapted to support a commercial can 105, preferably containing a paint or a painting, equipped with a cover 1 according to the present invention as replacement of its own original cover. Each of the supporting stations 103 is equipped with at least one electric connecting cable adapted to be connected to the current outlet of the related cover 1 to supply the motors 13, 17 with electric current, and with at least one duct adapted to be connected to the quick-connection system of the delivery outlet 18 of the pump 11 of the related cover 1. All ducts therefore transport the products coming from the cans 105 and then converge from the supporting stations 103 towards a common delivering head 107 placed above at least one container 109 of the final desired composite, and obtained through suitable mixing of the product contained inside the cans 105 and taken from the respective pumping means 5.
Obviously, the dye-meter 100 comprises control and processing means adapted to control the operation of the motors 13, 17 of each supporting station 103. In particular, the control and processing means through the motors 13, 17 are adapted to automatically check stirring times and pauses of each stirring means 7 and the operation of the pumping means 5 to perform the desired and programmed batching of the single products to obtain the final desired composite.
Obviously, the number of supporting stations with which the automatic dye-meter 1 of theinvention must be equipped can be different and depending on the type of final composites to be obtained: merely as a non-limiting example, the automatic dye-meter 100 shown in the Figure is equipped with sixteen supporting stations 103. Therefore, due to the cover 1 and' the automatic dye- meter 100 according to the present invention, the following numerous advantages can be obtained:
- reducing the production costs of the automatic dye- meter since it does not house any fixed tank, but it directly uses the commercial cans of the products;
- removing product wastes that occur when topping-up the tanks of prior art dye-meters;
- reducing risks of damages caused by frequent errors when topping-up the tanks of prior art dye-meters;
- optimising the management of warehouse spare parts;
- reducing or removing the topping-up times;
- extremely easy maintenance, since all parts subjected to wear are concentrated in a single object that can be easily replaced without using any tool.
