Abstract

The aim of the present invention is to provide a self-supporting retaining wall construction using a curved steel panel and a steel wire, comprising: two or more furring strip mounting elements inserted into a flange of an H-pile for supporting a plurality of soil-retaining plates of the retaining wall construction such that compression forces from a prestress furring strip can be applied to side surfaces of the furring strip mounting elements; and one or more prestress furring strips, each of which has an arc shape and is arranged between two adjacent furring strip mounting elements to compress each furring strip mounting element from the right or left side through the tension force applied to one or more tension wires inserted therein. The above-described self-supporting retaining wall construction can quickly deal with sudden soil pressure deformation, and is configured such that interference between a structure and the furring strip is reduced so as to improve constructability. Further, the self-supporting retaining wall construction of the present invention can be installed and dismantled in a simple manner without particular expertise, and, when installed, can block obstacles which might otherwise cause inconveniences in working underground, and can eliminate a strut to ensure the operation and the safety of a drilling machine.
