本発明の好ましい態様(Preferred Modes)の1つにおいて、ゲートウェイ装置は、モバイル高速ネットワーク上でLTE及びEPCに接続されたパケット転送装置を、モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の回線交換機に対しRNCのような動作をさせて接続させ、モバイル高速ネットワーク上でLTE及びEPCに接続された端末とRNCを介して回線交換機に接続された端末(例えば既存の端末)との間での音声通信の相互接続を実現するものである。
(A)回線交換の呼制御信号をそのまま用いて、LTE及びEPCのベアラで転送する、
(B)VoIPで使用されるSIP(Session Initiation Protocol)を用いて、これをLTE及びEPCのベアラで転送する、
の2種類の形態が考えられるが、以下の実施例では(A)について説明する。
(C)回線交換のプロトコルであるIuUP(Iu U-Plane)をそのまま用いて、LTEおよびEPCのベアラで転送する、
(D)VoIPで使用されるRTP(Realtime Transport Protocol)を用い、これをLTE及びEPCのベアラで転送する、
の2種類の形態が考えられるが、以下の実施例では(D)について説明する。以下、具体的な実施例に即して説明する。
図1は、本発明の第1の実施例のゲートウェイ装置のネットワーク構成と接続形態を示す図である。図1を参照すると、携帯端末120は、既存のモバイル回線交換ネットワーク130に接続され、音声電話端末である。特に制限されないが、携帯端末120は、既存の音声電話端末をそのまま使うことができる。携帯端末120は、モバイル回線交換ネットワーク130に接続され、無線基地局制御装置(RNC)138を介して回線交換機135との間で呼制御信号と音声信号をやりとりする。携帯端末120は、音声コーデックとして、例えばAMR(Adaptive Multi-Rate)音声コーデックを搭載し、音声信号を12.2 kbpsのビットレートで圧縮符号化して得たビットストリームを送受信するものとする。なお、AMR音声コーデックの詳細は、3GPP(Third Generation Partnership Project) TS26.090規格等を参照することができる。
・呼制御信号として、例えばISUPプロトコルを用いてやりとりし、
・音声信号として、AMR音声ストリームをIuUP (Iu User Plane)回線交換プロトコルに格納した形式を用いてやりとりする。
ここで、IuUPプロトコルは3GPP TS25.415規格や、TS26.102等を参照することができる。
次に、本発明の第2の実施例について説明する。図3は、本発明の第2の実施例の構成を示す図である。図3において、図2と同一の要素には、同一の参照番号が付されている。以下では、図2の前記実施例と同一要素の説明は省略し、相違点について説明する。
本発明の好ましい態様(Preferred Modes)の別の1つにおいて、図4を参照すると、ゲートウェイ装置(110A)は、モバイル高速ネットワーク上でLTE及びEPCに接続されたパケット転送装置(139)を、モバイル回線交換ネットワーク(130)とIMSネットワーク(131)とを相互接続するための第2のゲートウェイ装置(137)に対し、RNCのような動作をさせて接続させ、前記LTE及びEPCに接続された携帯端末(150)と、RNC(138)を介して第2のゲートウェイ装置(137)に接続された携帯端末(120)との間で音声通信の相互接続を実現する。
(A)回線交換の呼制御信号をそのまま用いてLTE及びEPCのベアラで転送する場合と、
(B)VoIPで使用されるSIP(Session Initiation Protocol)を使用してこれをLTE及びEPCのベアラで転送する場合、
の2種類の形態が考えられるが、以下の説明では、前者(A)について説明するが、後者(B)についても同様の構成により実現可能である。
(C)回線交換のプロトコルであるIuUP(Iu U-Plane)をそのまま使用してLTEおよびEPCのベアラで転送する場合と、
(D)VoIPで使用されるRTPプロトコルを使用しこれをLTE及びEPCのベアラで転送する場合、
の2種類の形態が考えられるが、以下の説明では、後者(D)について説明するが、前者(C)についても同様の構成により実現可能である。これらをふまえて、以下、具体的な実施例に即して説明する。
図4は、本発明の第3の実施例のゲートウェイ装置のネットワーク構成と接続形態を示す図である。図4において、携帯端末120は、モバイル回線交換ネットワーク130に接続される音声電話端末である。特に制限されないが、携帯端末120は既存の音声電話端末をそのまま使うことができる。携帯端末120は、モバイル回線交換ネットワーク130に接続され、無線基地局制御装置(RNC)138を介して第2のゲートウェイ装置137との間で呼制御信号と音声信号をやりとりする。
・呼制御信号として、例えばISUPプロトコルを用いてやりとりし、

前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置が、前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の前記第2のゲートウェイ装置からみて、前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の無線基地局制御装置(RNC)と同じ動作にみえるように、前記パケット転送装置のプロトコルを、前記無線基地局制御装置(RNC)のプロトコルと同一プロトコルに変換した上で前記第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続し、
前記無線基地局制御装置(RNC)を介して前記第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続する端末と、前記モバイル高速ネットワークに接続する端末との間で音声通信の相互接続を行う、ゲートウェイ装置。

前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置が、前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の前記第2のゲートウェイ装置からみて、前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の無線基地局制御装置(RNC)と同じ動作にみえるように、前記パケット転送装置のプロトコルを、前記無線基地局制御装置(RNC)のプロトコルと同一プロトコルに変換した上で前記第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続し、
前記無線基地局制御装置(RNC)を介して前記第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続する端末と、前記モバイル高速ネットワークに接続する端末との間で音声通信の相互接続を行う、ゲートウェイ方法。

モバイル高速ネットワーク上のパケット転送装置と、
モバイル回線交換ネットワークとIMSネットワークとを相互接続する第2のゲートウェイ装置と、
前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置を第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続するゲートウェイ装置と、

前記ゲートウェイ装置は、前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置が、前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の前記第2のゲートウェイ装置からみて、前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の無線基地局制御装置(RNC)と同じ動作にみえるように、前記パケット転送装置のプロトコルを、前記無線基地局制御装置(RNC)のプロトコルと同一プロトコルに変換した上で前記第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続し、
前記無線基地局制御装置(RNC)を介して前記第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続する端末と、前記モバイル高速ネットワークに接続する端末との間で音声通信の相互接続を行う、ネットワークシステム。

Claims (10)
- モバイル高速ネットワーク上のパケット転送装置をモバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の所定のノードに接続し音声通信を行うゲートウェイ装置であって、
前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置から、
呼制御信号と、
音声データを予め定められたプロトコルまたはペイロードフォーマットにより格納したパケットと、
のうちの少なくとも一方を受信し、
前記呼制御信号、前記プロトコルまたは前記ペイロードフォーマットとのうちの少なくとも一つに対し、変換の必要ありと判断される場合には、
前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の無線基地局制御装置(RNC)が前記所定のノードに接続するときに使用する回線交換プロトコルと同一のプロトコルに変換して、前記所定のノードに出力し、
前記所定のノードが前記無線基地局制御装置に出力するときに使用するプロトコルと同一のプロトコルを使用した、
呼処理信号と、
前記同一のプロトコルを使用して格納された音声信号と、
のうちの少なくとも一方を入力し、
入力した、前記呼制御信号と前記音声信号のプロトコルのうち少なくとも一つに対し、変換の必要ありと判断される場合には、前記呼制御信号と前記音声信号のプロトコルの少なくとも一つを変換した上で、前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置に出力する、ことを特徴とするゲートウェイ装置。 - 音声信号に対して音声圧縮符号化方式を変換する変換部を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のゲートウェイ装置。
- 前記モバイル高速ネットワークとパケットのやりとりをするためにセキュリティ機能を強化する手段を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のゲートウェイ装置。
- 前記モバイル高速ネットワークは、LTE(Long Term Evolution)、EPC(Evolved Packet Core)、Home NodeB、Home eNodeBの少なくとも1つを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のゲートウェイ装置。
- 前記所定のノードが、回線交換機を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載のゲートウェイ装置。
- 前記所定のノードが、前記モバイル回線交換ネットワークとIMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)ネットワークとを相互接続する第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続するゲートウェイ装置を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載のゲートウェイ装置。
- モバイル高速ネットワーク上のパケット転送装置をモバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の所定のノードに接続し音声通信を行うゲートウェイ方法であって、
前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置から、
呼制御信号と、
音声データを予め定められたプロトコルまたはペイロードフォーマットにより格納したパケットと、
のうちの少なくとも一方を受信し、
前記呼制御信号、前記プロトコルまたは前記ペイロードフォーマットとのうちの少なくとも一つに対し、変換の必要ありと判断される場合には、
前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の無線基地局制御装置(RNC)が前記所定のノードに接続するときに使用する回線交換プロトコルと同一のプロトコルに変換して、前記所定のノードに出力し、
前記所定のノードが前記無線基地局制御装置に出力するときに使用するプロトコルと同一のプロトコルを使用した、
呼処理信号と、
前記同一のプロトコルを使用して格納された音声信号と、
のうちの少なくとも一方を入力し、
入力した、前記呼制御信号と前記音声信号のプロトコルのうち少なくとも一つに対し、変換の必要ありと判断される場合には、前記呼制御信号と前記音声信号のプロトコルの少なくとも一つを変換した上で、前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置に出力する、ことを特徴とするゲートウェイ方法。 - 前記所定のノードが、回線交換機と、
前記モバイル回線交換ネットワークとIMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)ネットワークとを相互接続する第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続するゲートウェイ装置と、
のうちの少なくとも一方を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項7記載のゲートウェイ方法。 - モバイル高速ネットワーク上のパケット転送装置と、
モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の所定のノードと、
前記パケット転送装置を所定のノードに接続し音声通信を行うゲートウェイ装置と、
を備えた通信システムであって、
前記ゲートウェイ装置は、
前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置から、
呼制御信号と、
音声データを予め定められたプロトコルまたはペイロードフォーマットにより格納したパケットと、
のうちの少なくとも一方を受信し、
前記呼制御信号、前記プロトコルまたは前記ペイロードフォーマットとのうちの少なくとも一つに対し、変換の必要ありと判断される場合には、
前記モバイル回線交換ネットワーク上の無線基地局制御装置(RNC)が前記所定のノードに接続するときに使用する回線交換プロトコルと同一のプロトコルに変換して、前記所定のノードに出力し、
前記所定のノードが前記無線基地局制御装置に出力するときに使用するプロトコルと同一のプロトコルを使用した、
呼処理信号と、
前記同一のプロトコルを使用して格納された音声信号と、
のうちの少なくとも一方を入力し、
入力した、前記呼制御信号と前記音声信号のプロトコルのうち少なくとも一つに対し、変換の必要ありと判断される場合には、前記呼制御信号と前記音声信号のプロトコルの少なくとも一つを変換した上で、前記モバイル高速ネットワーク上の前記パケット転送装置に出力する、ことを特徴とする通信システム。 - 前記所定のノードが、
回線交換機と、
前記モバイル回線交換ネットワークとIMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)ネットワークとを相互接続する第2のゲートウェイ装置に接続するゲートウェイ装置と、
のうちの少なくとも一つを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項9記載の通信システム。
