Abstract

To the base 1 of the footing an assembly member 3 is permanently fixed, having a form of multiple wall symmetrically formed along a-a axis, with a small recess 4 in the central zone, the walls of which from the upper view perspective are similar in shape to a circle or an ellipse, or a rectangle, or the combination thereof, open to the inside. From the ends of walls of the small recess 4, symmetrically sidewise, with an angle between 80 to 125° between them, socket walls 5 extend, creating a big recess 6 of trapezoid-like shape without bases, as a part of post socket 7. From ends of socket walls 5, assembly walls 8 extend perpendicularly to the symmetry axis a-a. Opposite the assembly member 3 a repeatedly bent, removable clamping member 10 is situated, having at both sides side-, perpendicular to a-a axis, fixing walls 11 connected by two curves 12, each of which is shaped along two sides of a triangle without a base, thus creating in the middle zone a triangular, open to the inside of the footing, big recess 13 as a second, complementary piece of post socket 7. At the other side of the clamping member 10 a meandric wall 14 is connected to it, which in an upper view perspective is a combination of open ellipses or rectangles, or circles, or the combination thereof, creating small recesses 15 between them.

Description

Post assembly footing
The present invention relates to a post assembly footing, in particular a post being a support for roadsigns, as well as information, advertisement, decoration and lighting supports.
From patent description PL 175336 from patent claim no PCT/SE94/00573 a post is known with a base with at least three grips mounted in a certain distance from each other, fixed to the base, and a foundation with mounting members, supporting at least three bars mounted in a certain distance from each other fixed in grips fixing the post in the foundation. Grips mounted outside the base and surrounding the bars have apertures placed longitudinally in respect to the post and at least in part of their height open transversely to the longitudinal axis of the grip. The bars are fixed in grips with a blocking member.
Patent description no PL 135942 presents an anchoring element for roadsign posts and consisting of two identical portions forming a member body of trapezoidal section, with a semicircular axial grooves corresponding to the diameter of the post and intersecting longitudinal grooves perpendicular thereto, locked in the upper, narrower portion of the member, each other.
In the protective description of the application in Poland of the utility model no W. 112838 a mounting of a supporting post, consisting of an underground and overground portion. The underground portion consists of a steel section and a weight, made of reinforced concrete. The overground portion consists of a steel section and a stabilising member made of reinforced concrete. The supporting pole extends within the underground portion by a steel section concentrically located in the steel section. The solution according to the invention consists in that a vertical mounting member fixed to the base has a form of multiple wall symmetrically formed along a-a axis, with a small recess near the edge of the base, in the central zone, the walls of which from the upper view perspective are similar in shape to a circle or an ellipse, or a rectangle, or the combination thereof, open to the inside. From the ends of walls of the small recess, symmetrically sidewise, with an angle between 80 to 125° between them, socket walls extend, creating a big recess of trapezoid-like shape without bases as a part of post socket. From ends of socket walls, assembly walls extend perpendicularly to the symmetry axis a-a.
Opposite the assembly member a wall-, repeatedly bent, removable clamping member is situated. At both sides of the clamping member there are side-, perpendicular to a-a axis, fixing walls connected with two curves, each of which is shaped along two sides of a triangle without a base, thus creating in the middle zone a triangular, open to the outside, big recess as a second, complementary piece of post socket. At the other side of the clamping member, in its middle area, a meandric wall is connected to it, which in an upper view perspective is a combination of open figures similar in shape to ellipses or rectangles, or circles, or the combination thereof, creating small recesses between them. The clamping, member is connected with the assembly member by contracting members.
Preferably, the base of the footing has assembly holes for screws or anchor members that fix the footing to the ground, the holes being partly open towards the outside of the base.
Preferably, from socket walls slant in respect to the a-a axis, in the direction of the base, from the small recess, supporting walls extend. Preferably, assembly walls of the assembly member have holes and fixing walls of the clamping member have holes, located in corresponding pairs on mutual axes.
Holes of assembly walls and fixing walls are preferably located in such manner, that after reversing the clamping member they are placed in corresponding pairs on mutual axes.
Preferably in holes of assembly walls and fixing walls, contracting members are located, namely screws placed in internally threaded holes or screws with nuts.
The basic advantage of solution presented above is the fixing and construction of the footing. The aim of their construction is to considerable decrease damage to vehicles in case of driving over a post at the side of a road. It is obvious, that lesser damage to vehicle results in enhanced safety of people travelling in it, as well as lesser risk of damage to freight carried by such vehicle. Assembly holes of the base, partially open to the outside, lead to the increase of safety in case of fixing the base to the ground with elements with head smaller that the diameter of holes, using washers of varied thickness and made of a variety of materials characterised by different strength, in particular deformation strength and breaking strength. After a vehicle hits the post, such washer can be torn or bent by the pulled-out base, which in both cases leads to drawing the head through the whole and knocking the post over.
The safety is significantly increased by a considerable development of post socket walls, thus achieving diverse deformation zones by the possibility of tearing or and bending particular elements and by the possibility of tearing the fixing of the wall to the base. Another vital advantage is the flexibility of application, as posts of various shapes and sizes can be mounted therein, i.e. round, tetragonal, hexagonal, octagonal, profiled ones, thanks to different profiles at both sides of the clamping member. Thanks to meandric shaping of the clamping member, posts of transverse profile, designed especially in order to limit the results of vehicle impact, can be mounted as well.
Another advantage is the possibility to choose one of two sides, according to the a-a axis of the footing.
The subject of the invention is presented on sample embodiments illustrated by drawings, where fig. 1 presents an upper perspective view of the footing with cross-section of post in the shape of a round pipe of small diameter, mounted in post socket, fig. 2 - an upper perspective view of the footing with cross-section of post in the shape of a round pipe of a greater diameter, mounted in post socket, fig. 3 - an upper perspective view of the footing with the clamping member reversed in respect to fig. 1 and fig. 2, with post cross-section in the form of a thin-walled, longitudinally open section mounted in post socket, fig. 4 - an upper perspective view of the footing without the clamping member, fig. 5 - front view of footing presented on fig. 4, from the inside, fig. 6 - side view of footing presented on fig. 4, fig. 7 - an upper perspective view of the removable clamping member, fig. 8 - front view of the clamping member from the side of curves with shapes similar to triangles without bases, fig. 9 - front view of the clamping member from the meandric wall.
Example 1
The footing has base 1 in the form of a square, thick steel sheet, wherein on two opposite sides each, near the edge, two round assembly holes 2 are located, connected with the edges of base 1 with cut-outs of width slightly smaller than their diameter.
The aim of assembly holes 2 is to place screws in them, that in turn are screwed in internally threaded sleeves mounted in the reinforced concrete foundation of the footing.
Base 1 has bottom sides of steel walls creating assembly member 3 fixed to it with fillet welds, while at the edge of base 1 with assembly holes there is the back wall of small recess 4. This recess is created by walls shaped from upper perspective as a square without the side from the inside of the footing. From ends of walls creating small recess 4, symmetrically sidewise, with the angle of 110° between them, socket walls 5 extend, creating big recess 6 with the shape of trapezoid without upper ad bottom base. Two supporting walls 9 parallel to a-a axis extend from socket walls 5 in the direction of edge of base 1. Big recess 6 forms part of post socket 7, in which post 19 is mounted. From the end of obtuse socket walls 5, assembly walls 8 extend perpendicularly to the a-a symmetry axis of the footing.
Opposite member 3, a wall-, repeatedly bent, removable clamping member 10 is situated having at both sides side-, perpendicular to a-a axis, fixing walls 11 connected with two curves 12, each of which is shaped along two sides of a triangle without a base, connected with each other along a-a axis. The connected internal sides of curves 12 create a triangular, open to the inside of the footing, big recess 13 as a second, complementary piece of post socket 7. At the other side of the clamping member 10, in its middle area, a meandric wall 14 is connected to it, curved into three projections with a shape of an open square, between which two small recesses 15 are created.
Facing each other big recess 6 of assembly member and big recess 13 of clamping member 10 create post socket 7 rhomboidal in shape with a space between big recesses 6 and 13 defined by spaces between assembly walls 8 and fixing walls 11. It is presented on upper view perspectives on fig.1 and fig. 2. On fig. 1, the mounted circular post 19 has a small diameter requiring a smaller post socket 7, which is obtained by moving the clamping member 10 to assembly member 3.
In assembly walls 8 each, there are two holes 16, placed one above the other, and in fixing walls 11 each there are two holes 17, placed one above the other. Each hole 16 has a corresponding hole 17 placed on one axis, this feature being present also in case of any reversal of clamping member 10. in hole pairs 16 and 17 there are contracting members 18, being screws with nuts, where by screwing the screws, the clamping member 10 is clamped to the post 19. By tightening all contracting members 18, the post 19 is mounted in post socket in a sufficiently firm manner.
Example 2
In this example, presented on fig. 3, the same technical means as in construction according to example 1 create the footing, the difference being that the clamping member 10 is reversed by 180° in respect to its position in example 1. As a result, its meandric wall 14 faces the assembly member 3, due to which the post socket 7 changes its shape considerably, thanks to which the profiled post 20 can be firmly mounted therein. The post has been analysed and verified in usage conditions, in particular taking into account minimisation of unfavourable effects for people, vehicle and cargo in case of vehicle running over the post.
In the description, claims and the abstract the term 'post1 is used, which means a generally vertical longitudinal element of various cross-sections and broad range of dimensions, from a few to 100 cm of diameter of circles circumscribed on the shape of its cross-section.

Claims
1. Post assembly footing with a base in the form of a sheet on which wall members are situated vertically, forming a post socket in which a post is mounted, characterised by that an assembly member (3) is permanently fixed to the base (1) and has a form of multiple wall symmetrically formed along a- a axis, with a small recess (4) near the edge of the base (1), in the central zone, the walls of which from the upper view perspective are similar in shape to a circle or an ellipse, or a rectangle, or the combination thereof, open to the inside, next, from the ends of walls of the small recess (4), symmetrically sidewise, with an angle between 80 to 125° between them, socket walls (5) extend, creating a big recess (6) of trapezoid-like shape without bases as a part of post socket (7), next from ends of socket walls (5), assembly walls (8) extend perpendicularly to the symmetry axis a-a and opposite the assembly member (3) a wall-, repeatedly bent, removable clamping member (10) is situated, having at both sides side-, perpendicular to a-a axis, fixing walls (11) connected with two curves (12), each of which is shaped along two sides of a triangle without a base, thus creating in the middle zone a triangular, open to the inside of the footing, big recess (13) as a second, complementary piece of post socket (7), having at the other side of the clamping member (10), in its middle area, a meandric wall (14) connected to it, which in an upper view perspective is a combination of open figures similar in shape to ellipses or rectangles, a circles, or the combination thereof, creating small recesses (15) between them, and moreover the assembly member (3) is connected with the clamping member (10) by contracting members (18).
2. Footing according to claim 1, characterised by that in the base (1), assembly holes (2), partly open to the outside, are placed.
3. Footing according to claim 1 , characterised by that from socket walls (5), in the direction of the base (1) edge adjacent to the small recess (4), supporting walls (9) extend.
4. Footing according to claim 3, characterised by that the supporting walls (9) are bent.
5. Footing according to claim 1, characterised by that assembly walls (8) of assembly member (3) have holes (16) and fixing walls (11) of the clamping member (10) have holes, located in corresponding pairs on mutual axes.
6. Footing according to claim 5, characterised by that holes (16 and 17)are located in such way that after reversing the clamping member (10) they are placed in corresponding pairs on mutual axes.
7. Footing according to claim 4, characterised by that in holes (16 and 17), contracting members (18) placed, having the form of screws placed in internally threaded holes or screws with nuts.
