Definitions
- the present invention relates to a feed-forward type noise canceling headphone, and more specifically, a microphone introduction unit that collects external noise is disposed in a sealed space provided outside the front air chamber, thereby providing a directional external device.
- the present invention relates to a noise canceling headphone that can effectively mute even noise.
- the noise-canceling headphones are equipped with a microphone that collects external noise in a part of the housing. Based on the external noise collected by this microphone, a signal (cancellation signal) that cancels this external noise is generated.
- the speaker unit is driven by the generated cancel signal to emit a cancel sound from the speaker unit, and the external noise is canceled by the cancel sound.
- the feed-forward type noise canceling headphone is a type in which a microphone that collects external noise is installed outside the front air chamber, and the sound radiated from the speaker unit (playing sound and canceling sound such as musical sound) Since it is not fed back by the microphone, the cancel sound does not adversely affect the frequency characteristics when used for music reproduction, and is suitable for music reproduction with high sound quality.
- the above-mentioned “front air chamber” refers to a space surrounded by ear pads, and is a space that is closed by a user's temporal region during use and communicates with the ear canal.
- Various types of noise canceling headphones are known depending on their shapes.
- the noise-carrying headphones of the ear mount type (Supraconca type) and the ear cover type (Circum oral type) other than the ear plug type (canal type) have the sound wave introduction part of the above microphone in the external space of the headphone housing. Because it is installed face-to-face, it is easy for wind and rain to hit the sound wave introduction part of the microphone directly under strong winds or during rain, and the sound may be collected so loud that the noise caused by these cannot be eliminated.
- Noise canceling headphones that can be used are known.
- the microphone can pass through the housing and reach the user's ear before the outside microphone collects the sound.
- a noise canceling headphone that collects noise and outputs a canceling sound that is not affected by the direction of the noise source by a microphone installed in the front air chamber (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
- a sufficient noise canceling effect cannot be obtained unless four or more microphones are used in order to eliminate the influence of the direction of the noise source. If the number of microphones increases, noise coming from different directions can be collected before passing through the ear cup, so that it is not affected by the direction of the noise source. However, if the characteristics of the plurality of microphones do not match, the cancel signal generated based on the noise signal input from each microphone does not become an effective signal for eliminating the noise signal. This is because the phase of the cancellation signal to be generated cannot be matched unless the characteristics of the plurality of microphones and the characteristics of the circuit that processes the input noise signal are matched.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and in the feedforward type noise canceling headphone, the sound wave introduction portion of the sound collecting microphone is disposed in a sealed space provided outside the front air chamber, thereby providing a circuit. It is an object of the present invention to provide a noise canceling headphone that is not affected by the direction of noise arrival without complicating the configuration.
- the present invention generates an noise cancellation signal from an external noise signal generated by a microphone attached to a housing, and drives the headphone unit by this noise cancellation signal to emit a cancellation sound toward a user.
- an ear cover type feedforward type noise canceling headphone comprising a housing and a space closed by a member covering the outer periphery of the housing, and having an air chamber formed outside the front air chamber,
- the main feature is that the sound wave introduction part of the microphone is in the air chamber.
- the present invention also relates to the noise-canceling headphones, wherein the housing has a groove having a depth from the outer peripheral surface toward the center of the housing, and the air chamber is closed by a member that covers the groove from the outer peripheral side. It is a featured space.
- the present invention also relates to the above-described noise-canceling headphone, wherein the air chamber communicates with the external space through a hole formed in a part of a member that covers the outer periphery of the housing.
- the present invention also relates to the noise-canceling headphones, wherein the air chamber is a space sealed by an ear pad that contacts the user and a cover that is installed outside the housing.
- the present invention also relates to the noise-canceling headphones, wherein the air chamber is in acoustic communication with the space in the ear pad through a hole provided in the air chamber side wall of the ear pad that contacts the user. It is characterized by that.
- the present invention also relates to the above-described noise-canceling headphones, wherein the maximum straight line length in the air chamber is equal to or less than the wavelength of the external noise to be silenced.
- the present invention also relates to the above-described noise-canceling headphones, further comprising a circuit that mixes and outputs a signal for eliminating noise and an audio signal.
- the present invention it becomes possible to provide a noise canceling headphone that can exhibit a stable canceling effect at a low cost regardless of the direction of noise.
- the frequency band that exerts the canceling effect can be adjusted by the communication hole with the external space provided in the air chamber. Therefore, even with the same circuit configuration, the noise that can correspond to any frequency band Cancel headphones can be obtained.

- the ear pad 5 is fixed to the baffle plate 1 by covering a part of the skin material on the outer peripheral surface of the front surface side (left side in FIG. 1) of the baffle plate 1.
- a front air chamber 7 is formed by the ear pad 5, the front surface of the baffle plate 1, and the user's external auditory canal.
- the baffle plate 1 is integrally formed in a state where disc portions 11 and 12 which are two donut-like members having different outer diameters are separated in the axial direction.
- a part of the skin material provided on the outer peripheral portion of the ear pad 5 covers the outer peripheral portion of the disk portion 11 having a large outer diameter disposed on the front side.

- a sealing plate 3 that is a ring-shaped member is fitted near the outer periphery of the disc portion 11 and the disc portion 12.
- a ring-shaped air chamber 8 is formed by the sealing plate 3, the disc portion 11, the disc portion 12 and the cylindrical portion 12.
- the sealing plate is such that the outer diameter of the air chamber 8 is equal to or larger than the outer diameter of the front air chamber 7 and the outer peripheral portion of the air chamber 8 is equal to or outside the circumference of the front air chamber 7.
- a size of 3 is defined.
- the air chamber 8 is configured to be positioned in all directions of the front air chamber 7, so that external noise reaches the air chamber 8 before reaching the front air chamber 7.
- the air chamber 8 Since the air chamber 8 is a sealed space, it functions as a pressure (sound pressure) sound field with respect to a wavelength longer than the maximum linear length in the air chamber 8 (frequency lower than the frequency due to the wavelength). Accordingly, the sound wave having the predetermined frequency or less defined by the size of the air chamber 8 out of the external noise reaching the air chamber 8 is instantly and uniformly propagated in the air chamber 8, and the sound wave is introduced into the air chamber 8. The sound is collected by the microphone 2 in which the section is arranged. According to the noise-canceling headphone 10 according to the above embodiment, the external noise arriving from any direction reaches the air chamber 8 before reaching the front air chamber 7, and therefore arrives at a predetermined frequency. Regardless of the direction, the external noise from any direction is collected by the microphone 2 in the same way.
- the air chamber 8 is configured to function as a pressure (sound pressure) sound field.
- the cancel signal is uniformly generated regardless of the directionality of the external noise, the canceling is performed from the headphone unit 6 without delaying the arrival of the external noise. Sound is emitted and effective noise cancellation can be performed.
- the air chamber 8 functions as a pressure (sound pressure) sound field for a frequency band having a wavelength longer than the wavelength defined by the volume and maximum length of the air chamber 8. Therefore, a noise canceling headphone that exhibits an optimal canceling effect according to the frequency characteristics of external noise can be obtained by adjusting the dimensions of the baffle plate 1 and the sealing plate 3.
- the maximum length of the air chamber 8 may be 16.5 cm or less.
- the sound wave introduction section of the microphone 2 only needs to face the air chamber 8, and the noise canceling effect of the noise canceling headphones according to the present invention is not limited by the mounting position.
- the acoustic characteristics of the microphone 2 can be adjusted by providing a part of the hole communicating with the external space instead of making the air chamber 8 a completely sealed space. Thereby, the acoustic characteristics of the noise cancellation headphones 10 can be easily performed even after the sealing plate 3 is assembled.
- the noise canceling headphones having the above structure, even if there is one microphone that collects external noise, the noise canceling headphones that can effectively eliminate the external noise generated in all directions are provided with a processing circuit.
- the introduction portion of the microphone 2 for collecting external noise does not directly contact the external space. Therefore, it is not affected by wind (outside air wind, indoor air conditioner wind, etc.) or rain, and friction noise generated by the user's hair coming into contact with the microphone introduction section can be eliminated.
- a noise canceling headphone 20 includes a substantially donut-shaped ear pad 14 that is in contact with the user's temporal region and the periphery of the auricle and has a cushioning material therein, and the ear pad 14 is attached to the noise canceling headphone 10.

- the air chamber 17 Since the air chamber 17 has an outer diameter that is equal to or larger than that of the front air chamber 7, external noise that has reached the noise cancellation headphones 20 reaches the air chamber 17 before reaching the front air chamber 7.
- the air chamber 17 is a space sealed by the ear pad 14, the ear cup 16, and the microphone cover 18.
- the air chamber 17 functions as a pressure (sound pressure) sound field. Accordingly, sound waves in a frequency band lower than a predetermined frequency among external noises reaching the air chamber 17 are uniformly propagated in the air chamber 17 at the moment of reaching the air chamber 17 from any direction. Sound is collected toward the air chamber 17 by the microphone 2 in which a sound wave introduction unit is installed.

Abstract
