Abstract

A brake control apparatus includes: a manual hydraulic pressure source (27) having a master cylinder (32) that pressurizes a hydraulic fluid in accordance with a predetermined relationship between a brake pedal depression amount and a hydraulic fluid pressure, and a regulator (33) that regulates the hydraulic fluid in accordance with the hydraulic fluid pressure of the master cylinder (32) using a power hydraulic pressure source as a high pressure source; and a wheel cylinder pressure control system (66, 67) that controls an upstream pressure common to a plurality of wheel cylinders (23), using the power hydraulic pressure source (30) as a high pressure source, wherein the upstream pressure (control hydraulic pressure) generated by the wheel cylinder pressure control system (66, 67) is set to be lower than the hydraulic fluid pressure obtained in the manual hydraulic pressure source (27) in accordance with the relationship between the brake pedal depression amount and the hydraulic fluid pressure.
