Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for producing crystalline titanium dioxide (TiO2), to a method for producing a negative electrode active material, to a negative electrode active material, and to a lithium secondary battery. The method for producing crystalline titanium dioxide comprises the steps of: adding titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) into water at a temperature of 0°C to 10°C to give an aqueous titanylchloride (TiOCl2) solution; adding alcohol, urea, and a spheronizing agent into the aqueous titanylchloride solution to provide a mixture; and subjecting the mixture to a hydrothermal synthesis reaction at a pressure of 1.5 to 5 atmospheric pressures (atm) and at a temperature of 80°C to 155°C.
