Abstract

The invention relates to a mini-hydropower plant (10) for utilizing hydropower through a tensioning means (24) running in the circumferential direction, said tensioning means being located on at least two return wheels (34, 36). The mini-hydropower plant can be utilized to bring water from a higher level to a lower level or to utilize a stream and in the process convert the kinetic potential stored in the water and the kinetic energy of flow into mechanical power. This is to be done in a way that causes no damage to animals such as fish and crabs that pass through the mini-hydropower plant. The mini-hydropower plant is characterized in that sections are disposed at the end on the inside of the guide elements (14) relative to the circumferential direction and at the outermost sides of the guide elements relative to the circumferential direction, said sections (18) extending up from said elements.
