Abstract

An outlet cone (3) which can be mounted in the top of a chimney. The outlet cone is assembled by two or more modules (3B, 3C, 3D) wherein the side surfaces (1OA, 10B) of the modules are assembled with spring catches (12A, 12B) and the tops (7A, 7B) of the modules are assembled with a T-shaped assembly device (8A), which is placed in a shape complementary groove (8B). Hereby it is achieved that the outlet cone can be easily assembled without use of bolts or screws.

Description

Outlet cone and application
The invention relates to an outlet cone foe mounting in the top of a chimney where the outlet cone is assembled by two or more modules, where the modules are preferably identical where the side surfaces of the outlet cone modules are assembled with spring catches.
The invention also relates to the application of outlet cone.
Outlet cone is in this document understood as a top part to a chimney where the top part is preferably shaped like a cut off cone.
It is known from GB 1448202 A to use outlet cones for chimneys including ventilation chimneys where the outlet cones are mounted in the top of the chimney.
The hitherto known outlet cones are manufactured as primarily unbroken, or for that matter regarding GB 1448202 A two-piece units, which are assembled e.g. by glueing, welding or bolting.
It has been found, however, that there are some problems related to the hitherto known outlet cones.
These problems are primarily caused by the fact that outlet cones become increasingly larger corresponding to the increasingly more efficient ventilation systems they are connected to.
In that connection it is expensive and difficult to manufacture and transport the large outlet cones and special materials must be used including screws and bolts for assembling the hitherto known two-piece outlet cones, whereby the assembly process becomes both material- and time demanding and thereby has a high cost for the product.
It is therefore an object of .the invention to improve the known technique, which includes outlet cones and their application.
The object of the invention is achieved by an outlet cone of the type stated in the introductory portion of claim 1 , which is characterized in that the tops of the outlet cone modules are assembled with T-shaped assembly device, which is placed in shape complementary groove / indentation.
In this way it thus becomes possible to manufacture smaller manageable and preferably identical modules, which can easily be managed, transported and assembled including where these modules can be assembled, where they are to be end mounted without use of materials such as bolts or screws.
Further preferred embodiments for the outlet cone are stated in claim 2 to 4.
As mentioned the invention also relates to an application.
This application is characterized in that outlet cone is used for ventilation.
It hereby becomes possible to simply, inexpensively and efficiently to use outlet cones to the largest existing ventilation systems.
Further applications are stated in claim 6.
The invention will now be explained more fully with reference to the drawings, in which: Fig. 1 shows a sectional view of a building roof with mounted ventilation chimneys provided with outlet cones.
Rg. 2 shows a simplified diagram of an outlet cone.
Rg. 3 shows an outlet cone, which is taken apart, consisting of three modules.
Fig. 4 shows commenced assembly of the top of two neighbour modules for outlet cone.
Fig. 5 shows commenced assembly of the side of two neighbour modules for outlet cone.
Fig. 6 shows assembly of the side of two neighbour modules for outlet cone with hand tools.
Fig. 7 shows recess in the bottom of outlet cone for fixing on top of the ventilation chimney.
Fig. 8 shows bottom of outlet cone mounted to the top of ventilation chimney.
In fig. 1 is with 1 shown a sectional view of a building roof construction, which is provided with two ventilation chimneys 2, 2A1 which in the top is provided with outlet cones 3, 3A.
In fig. 4 is shown a simplified diagram of an outlet cone 3, which in the bottom is provided with a preferably cylindrical edge 4 for mounting to a ventilation chimney. Fig. 3 shows how an outlet cone manufactured according to the invention can be assembled by three preferably identical modules 3B1 3C, 3D.
In fig. 4 is shown a photo of the top of two neighbour modules 7A and 7B, which are assembled by assembly devices 8A and 8B, as stated with the arrow 9, where the assembly device 8A, which is characterized in being T- shaped is placed in 8B, which is shape complementary groove / indentation to the T-shaped counterpart 8A.
Fig. 5 shows a section of a preliminary assembly of the side surface of two neighbour modules 10A and 10B where these are joined as shown with arrows 13 and joined with spring catches 12A, 12B.
In fig. 6 is shown how outlet cone module sides 10A and 10B are assembled with spring catches by pressing these together with hand tools 15.
Fig. 7 shows how the preferably cylindrical bottom piece 4 of an outlet cone can be provided with a recess 16 to use for assembly of outlet cone to a ventilation chimney top.
In fig. 8 is shown an assembly of the bottom 5 of an outlet cone to the top 2B of a ventilation chimney with the recess assembly 16B.
It is a part of the invention that outlet cone 3 is manufactured from a polymeric material such as a plastic where a preferred embodiment includes manufacturing of outlet cone by injection moulding of plastic.
Outlet cone 3 has shown to be especially efficient to use for mounting on ventilation chimneys (2), which are used for ventilation where demands are set for efficient ventilation including ventilation of animal stables.
