Abstract
The present invention provides a thin-film solar cell device (1) comprising a substrate (2), an active region (11) and a passive region (10) that is substantially free of the components of the active region and surrounds the active region, wherein the active region is of substantially rectangular shape and comprises at least a first transparent electrode layer (3), at least one photoelectric conversion layer (4) and at least a second electrode layer (5) deposited on the substrate in the order of mention. Importantly, the edges (9) of the active region are curved. Furthermore, a method for the production of the thin-film solar cell device is provided.
