Abstract

The present invention belongs to the field of producing flexible materials consisting of a plastic film sandwich for the production of bags, suitcases, sofas and chairs covering, furniture and clothing. Multi-layer laminated plastic is realized by the combination of three overlapping components: a first and third layer component consists of a polyester film coloured on one side and glued by laying a bi-component polyurethane adhesive film having a weight of 2 grams per square meter, and a LDPE film (Low Density Polyethylene) having a thickness of 35 microns and a weight of 32.2 grams per square meter; a second layer component, placed between the first and the third component, is made by extruding two LDPE films (Low Density Polyethylene) and heat-sealed with a form-roller, by forming air bubbles inside;

Description

Multi-layer laminate plastic Description
Technical The present invention belongs to the field of producing flexible materials - which are different among them - consisting of a plastic film sandwich for the production of bags, suitcases, sofas and chairs covering, furniture and clothing.
State of the art t
A packaging material originating from the extrusion of two LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) films, which are then heat- welded by forming circular air bubbles, is universally known; it is also known that the polyester film (PET) and polyethylene LD film cannot be easily coupled through rolling. Therefore, a material formed by coupling through overlapping and subsequent lamination of layers of PET films and LD polyethylene is not known to the applicant.
Aims and advantages of the invention
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a multilayer laminate plastic characterized by the merging of different materials, PET and polyethylene, as well as to obtain a particularly lightness and at the same time high tensile strength, torsion and tear so that it can be easily- used in the production of purses and bags, covers for furniture and common clothing accessories, replacing the classic leather, skin and fabric. Another aim of the present invention in accordance with the previous one is to obtain a multi-layer laminate plastic having a strong resistance to perforation, which guarantees the stability and maintenance of the seam point over time. Another aim of the present invention in accordance with the previous ones is to obtain a multi-layer laminate plastic that produces a particular aesthetic effect in the field of saddlery, harness and travel bags, while assuming a particular brightness, transparency and strong water resistance combined to a low production cost.
How to produce the invention
The multi-layer laminate plastic - object of the present invention -, is produced, as a first preferred embodiment, through merging by hot rolling the three pre-peprared and custom-made overlapping components, in which: The first component is made of a polyester film (PET) having a thickness matching 12 microns and a weight of 16.6 grams per square meter. This film is coloured on one side by the layout of a ink film of PVB having a weight of 2 grams per square meter. Then, a film of a bi-component polyurethane adhesive having a weight of 2 grams per square meter is spread so that it can adhere to a film of LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) , having a thickness of 35 microns and weighing 32.2 grams per square meter;
The second layer component, set between the first and third layer, which is realized with an overall thickness of 276 microns and a weight of 300 grams per square meter, it is produced by extruding two LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) films and heat-sealed with a form-roller by forming circular bubbles having a 30 mm diameter.
The third layer component is made of a polyester film (PET) with a thickness equal to 12 microns and a weight of 16.6 grams per square meter. This film is coloured on one side by the layout of a ink film of PVB having a weight of 2 grams per square meter. Then, a film of a bi-component polyurethane adhesive having a weight of 2 grams per square meter is spread so that it can adhere to a film of LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) having a thickness of 35 microns and weighing 32.2 grams per square meter;
To increase the rigidity of the multi-layer laminate plastic, depending on the type of usage, a polyester film
(PET) is used having a thickness greater than 12 microns and a weight proportionately higher. Conversely, for greater flexibility, the thickness of the polyester film can be decreased. The second layer component of a multi-layer laminated plastic can be realized with air bubbles having geometric shapes different from the circular ones, for example the air bubbles can be realized elliptically, triangularly, quadrangularly or mixed, or with an irregular geometry and a size different from thirty millimetres. We have realized the intermediate layer component of the multi-layer laminate plastic with circular bubbles and a diameter size smaller than thirty millimetres, in practice over ten millimetres, or bubble sizes greater than thirty millimetres, but less than fifty millimetres. The ink film of PVB has a weight of 2 gr/sqm and can have different colours, shades and patterns, or can be overlaid with other layers of PVB ink having a weight 2 gr/sqm., or it can be coupled with prints.
