Abstract

The invention relates to a display device, such as a head-up display, having a substantially transparent imaging element (10), such as a windshield. An image is generated via an imaging device (18), such as an LCD, and radiated into the direction of the imaging element (10). According to the invention a reflection of the image occurs via a layer (14) connected to a carrier element (12) of the imaging element (10). The layer (14) has at least one holographic-optical element for reflecting an image. The invention further relates to a transparent imaging element, such as a windshield, and a method for the production of a transparent imaging element.
