Abstract

본 발명은 광대역 반사편광자, 이를 갖는 백라이트 유닛 및 액정표시장치에 관한 것이다. 이러한 본 발명의 광대역 반사편광자는, 광원에서 발광된 백색광 중, 다른 파장대역보다 광 세기가 큰 파장대역을 이루는 적어도 하나 이상의 랜덤편광의 제1편광 및 제2편광은 투과시키면서, 나머지 랜덤편광의 제1편광은 투과시키고 제2편광은 반사시키는 반사편광필름; 상기 반사편광필름으로부터 입사된 제1편광은 투과시키고 제2편광은 흡수하는 흡수편광막;을 포함한다. 따라서, 본 발명은 광원에서 발광된 백색광 중, 광 세기가 큰 랜덤편광을 반사편광필름 및 흡수편광막에서 적절히 조절하여 출사하므로 최적의 색 발현을 기대할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
