Abstract

The invention relates to a novel composite material comprising a) a matrix (A) formed from at least one metal from the group Al, Mg, Cu, Ag, Ni, Cr, Co, Nb, Ta, W, Mo, Si, Fe having a thermal conductivity of >50 W/mK, and/or from a metal from the group Ti, Cr, Nb, Ta, W, Mo, Si having a thermal expansion coefficient of < 10 ppm/K, b) a filler (B) based on one of the modifications of carbon and c) an additive (C), namely metal borides and/or elemental boron. The invention also relates to a method for the production thereof and to the use of the novel material.
