Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a composite material comprising at least one base layer or core layer and at least one decorative layer that is disposed on said base layer or core layer. The decorative layer has at least one printed paper layer that is provided with a resin, while the base layer or core layer comprises at least one layer made of wood, a derived timber product, or a resin-impregnated core paper. The individual layers are stacked on top of each other and are then pressed together under the effect of pressure and, optionally, an elevated temperature. Free functional chemical groups are produced on or applied to the at least one paper layer of the decorative layer, on at least one surface facing the core layer in the stack, before the decorative layer is placed on the stack, said free functional chemical groups being used as anchor groups to be bonded to the core layer.
