Abstract

A method for determining the volumetric amount of wear comprises the steps: providing a basic body and a counterbody; generating in each case one wear track on the basic body and on the counterbody by rubbing the counterbody and the basic body against one another; determining the planimetric amount of wear at at least one representative wear track; determining the amplitude; determining the volumetric amount of wear of the basic body by multiplying the amplitude by the planimetric amount of wear of the wear track; providing a virtual unstressed counterbody geometry; providing a virtual wear track geometry; calculating the difference between the virtual unstressed counterbody geometry and the virtual wear track geometry in order to obtain a worn counterbody geometry; determining the volumetric amount of wear of the counterbody by calculating the volume difference between the unstressed and the worn counterbody geometry; determining the volumetric amount of wear by adding the volumetric amount of wear of the basic body and the volumetric amount of wear of the counterbody.
