Abstract

The present invention relates to screen fabric for use in window coverings. More specifically, the present invention relates to screen fabric for use in window coverings, which is prepared by interweaving a flame-retardant filament with an LM filament to form a yarn having a sheath/core structure, wherein said sheath is polyester with a low melting point and said core is polyester with a normal melting point, and by heat treating (tentering) the resultant yarn to provide stiffness to the fabric surface, wherein the weight ratio of said LM filament to said flame-retardant filament ranges from 5:95 to 90:10, and the polyester with a normal melting point used for said core is flame-retardant polyester.
