Abstract

In a hybrid vehicle system intended for at least two types of driving, including urban driving and suburban driving, and comprising an electric storage (11) and an electric machine (53), the electric charge control method includes a first step for enabling the charging of the storage (11) and to prevent the discharge of the storage (11) when a low threshold is reached, and a second step for enabling the discharge of the storage (11) and preventing the charging of the storage (11) when a high threshold is reached. In said method, the low threshold and the high threshold define a useful storage (11) use range for all types of vehicle driving, the amplitude of the useful range being predetermined to ensure continuous urban driving.
