Description

SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY CLOSING AND OPENING A FILTER- HOLDER CHAMBER FOR DELIVERING MACHINES FOR INFUSION BEVERAGES
The present invention refers to a system for automatically closing and opening the filter-holder chamber for delivering machines for infusion beverages; the present invention further refers to a delivering machine for infusion beverages equipped with such system.
As known, the art proposes a wide variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines equipped with a preparing and delivering assembly adapted to produce an infusion by passing hot water through a capsule containing the essence to be infused, such as for example tea, coffee, tisanes, etc.
In particular, the infusing and delivering assembly is composed of a filter-holder chamber with related extraction chamber inside which the essence to be infused is arranged, being either powder or container inside a substantially known capsule or wafer, such filter-holder chamber to be fixed to the delivering assembly for pressurised hot water. As known, taking into account that, for an optimum preparation of the infusion beverage, hot water must be able to pass through the essence to be infused at a sufficiently high pressure, to guarantee a sufficient tightness of the filter-holder chamber to the delivering assembly, these latter ones are usually joined by interposing a bayonet-type automatically closing and opening system: the filter- holder chamber is therefore typically secured to the delivering assembly manually, by operating on a suitable handle or grip with which the filter-holder chamber itself is equipped.
It is therefore known that at least the manual intervention for securing the filter-holder chamber does not allow the known delivering machines to have a completely automatic operation.
In spite of this, the art does not propose a mechanical and automatic system for automatically closing and opening that allows, by exploiting sizes and costs compatible also with a household use of the delivering machines, securing, reliably and in a way that is able to resist to operating pressures of the delivering machine, the filter-holder chamber to the delivering assembly.
Therefore, purpose of the present invention is solving the above prior art problems by providing a system for automatically closing and opening the filter- holder chamber for delivering machines for infusion beverages that allows automatically and reliably securing the filter-holder chamber to the delivering assembly for hot pressurised infusion water.
Another object of the present invention is providing a system for automatically closing and opening the filter-holder chamber for delivering machines for infusion beverages that has small sizes though being able to guarantee a sufficient tightness between delivering assembly and filter-holder chamber itself.
Moreover, an object of the present invention is providing a delivering machine equipped with a system for automatically closing and opening the filter-holder chamber that has small sizes and is relatively cheap.
The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will result from the following description, are reached with a system for delivering infusion beverages as claimed in claim 1.
Moreover, the above and other objects and advantages of the invention are reached with a delivering machine equipped with a system for automatically closing and opening the filter-holder chamber as claimed in claim 9.
Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variations of the present invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims. It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) can be made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention as appears from the enclosed claims.
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof, provided as a non- limiting example, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which:
- FIG. 1 shows a side perspective view of a first preferred embodiment of the system for automatically closing and opening the filter-holder chamber according to the present invention;
- FIG. 2 shows a top perspective view of some components of the automatic closing and opening system of FIG. 1;
- FIG. 3 shows a side perspective view of the automatic closing and opening system of FIG. 2 ;
- FIG. 4 shows a top view of the automatic closing and opening system of FIG. 2 and 3 in a first operating position thereof;
- FIG. 5 shows a top view of the automatic closing and opening system of FIG. 2 and 3 in a second operating position thereof;
- FIG. 6a shows a side sectional view of a second preferred embodiment of the system for automatically closing and opening the filter-holder chamber according to the present invention; and
- FIG. βb shows a sectional view of the closing and opening system along section line A-A of FIG. βa .
For briefness, herein below obviously the descriptions will be omitted when related to parts and components that are common to other delivering systems for infusion beverages and necessary for the basic operation of the system itself, that anyway are deemed widely known in the art or within reach of any technician in the field, in order to deal in particular with aspects and components characterising the system for automatically closing and opening and the delivering machine equipped with such system according to the present invention.
Therefore, with particular reference to the Figures, it is possible to note that the system for automatically closing and opening 1 according to the present invention comprises at least one filter-holder chamber 3, obviously adapted to contain therein the essence to be infused, being either powder or contained inside a substantially known capsule or wafer, at least one delivering assembly 5 for pressurised infusion water, usually heated, such filter-holder chamber 3 and such delivering assembly 5 mutually cooperating through at least one automatic closing and opening mechanism 4 driven to be opened and/or closed by interposing at least one closing and opening kinematism 7, by at least one control motor 9, preferably with electric supply. In particular, though merely as an example, the automatic closing and opening mechanism 4 is of the bayonet type, therefore comprising at least one first closing tooth 11 integral with the delivering assembly 5, preferably two teeth arranged in mutually diametrically opposite positions with respect to the shower 13 of the delivering assembly 5, to be engaged by a respective second closing tooth 15 of the filter- holder chamber 3, in case consequently two teeth arranged in mutually diametrically opposite positions external with respect to the filter-holder chamber 3.
As known, the engagement between the first closing teeth 11 and the second closing teeth 15 of a bayonet- type closing mechanism occurs by mutually contacting the filter-holder chamber 3 and the delivering assembly 5 in a position in which such teeth 11 and 15 are in mutually offset positions, and by conferring a rotary movement to the filter-holder chamber 3 with respect to a first central rotation axis R thereof to take the second closing teeth 15 to overlap the first closing teeth 11, such overlapping interfering with the detachment of the filter-holder chamber 3 from the delivering assembly 5. In particular, with reference to Figures 4 and 5, it is possible to note that, once having mutually contacted the filter-holder chamber 3 and the delivering assembly (FIG. 4), making the filter-holder chamber 3 rotate around the first rotation axis R along a closing direction (like the one for example shown by arrow C in FIG. 4), the second closing teeth 15 are taken to overlap the first closing teeth 11 assuming the position shown in FIG. 5. Obviously, to proceed to separate the filter-holder chamber 3 from the delivering assembly 5, for example to proceed to clean and/or load the extracting chamber of the filter-holder chamber 3 with a new essence to be infused or with a new capsule, it is enough to proceed oppositely to what has been previously described, namely making the filter-holder chamber 3 rotate around the first rotation axis R along an opening direction (like the one for example shown by arrow A in FIG. 5) to take the second closing teeth 15 to be offset with respect to the first closing teeth 11 as shown in FIG. 4. In order to favour the access to the filter-holder chamber 3, and in particular to its extracting chamber, the delivering assembly 5 is preferably engaged in rotation with a rotation pin 17 orthogonal to the first rotation axis R. By rotating around such rotation pin 17, the delivering assembly 5 can then be lifted from the filter-holder chamber 3 to allow accessing its extracting chamber.
Obviously the closing C and opening A rotation directions around the first rotation axis R are given to the filter-holder chamber 3 by the control motor 9 by interposing the closing and opening kinematism 7. For such purpose, with reference in particular to the first preferred embodiment of FIG. 1 to 5, the closing and opening kinematism 7 comprises at least one actuating lever 18, having a first end thereof externally integral with the filter-holder chamber 3 and a second end thereof equipped with at least one slot 19, such slot 19 being engaged by at least one pin 21 sliding inside it, such pin 21 being integral with at least one connecting rod 23 actuated to rotate around a second rotation axis R' preferably parallel to the first rotation axis R, possibly by interposing at least one drive shaft 25 coaxial with such second rotation axis R' , by the control motor 9. Obviously, the length of the lever arm L of the actuating lever 18 will be function of the angular moment to be impressed to the filter-holder chamber 3 and the power that can be delivered by the control motor 9.
Depending on the example and preferred composition of the closing and opening kinematism 7 of the system according to the present invention as previously described, and with reference again in particular to Figures 4 and 5, in order to give the filter-holder chamber 3 its closing rotation direction C around the first rotation axis R, it is therefore necessary that, starting from the situation in FIG. 4, the control motor 9 imparts to the connecting rod 23 a rotation around the second rotation axis R' along a closing direction shown in FIG. 4 by arrow C : consequently, the pin 21 is taken to slide inside the slot 19 of the actuating lever 18 in order to kinematically rotate the filter-holder chamber 3 around the first rotation axis R along the closing direction C and reach the position in FIG. 5.
Instead, in order to proceed to separate the filter- holder chamber 3 from the delivering assembly 5 starting from the situation in FIG. 5, to give the filter-holder chamber 3 its opening rotation direction A around the first rotation axis R, it is then necessary that the control motor 9 imparts to the connecting rod 23 a rotation around the second rotation axis R' along an opening direction shown in FIG. 5 by arrow A' : consequently, the pin 21 is taken to slide inside the slot 19 of the actuating lever 18 in order to kinematically rotate the filter-holder chamber 3 around the first rotation axis R along the opening direction A and reach the position in FIG. 4. Instead, with reference to FIG. 6a and βb, it is possible to note that a second preferred embodiment of the closing and opening kinematism 7 comprises at least one gear or one driving wheel 31 keyed-in onto the drive shaft of the control motor 9 cooperating or meshing, by possibly interposing at least one gear or an idle wheel 33 having a third rotation axis R' ' , with at least one rack portion 31 externally integral with the filter- holder chamber 3, the rotation axes R, R' and R' ' being preferably mutually parallel. Obviously, the mechanical composition of the closing and opening kinematism 7 can be modified or integrated with other wholly obvious components, such as for example other gears or friction wheels, transmission belts or chains, without therefore departing from the scope of the present invention. Also in this case, therefore, in order to give the filter- holder chamber 3 its closing rotation direction C around the first rotation axis R, it is necessary that the control motor 9 gives the driving wheel 31 a rotation around the second rotation axis R' with a suitable direction: therefore, in case of a possible presence of the idle wheel 33, the closing direction of the driving wheel 31 will be the one shown in FIG. βb by arrow C ; without an idle wheel 33, the closing direction C will obviously be of an opposite sign. Naturally, to proceed to separate the filter-holder chamber 3 from the delivering assembly 5, the opening rotation direction A around the first rotation axis R and the opening direction A' around the second rotation axis R' will be opposite to their corresponding closing directions C and C mentioned above.
The present invention further refers to a delivering machine for infusion beverages (not shown) comprising at least one system for automatically closing and opening 1 according to the present invention like the previously- described one.
