Description
Procédé permettant la mise en œuyre de la vidéo enrichie sur les terminaux mobiles
L'invention a trait au domaine des télécommunications, et plus précisément à Ia diffusion de vidéo sur les terminaux mobiles.
Si les réseaux de mobiles de deuxième génération (2G) ont introduit Ia technologie numérique dans les communications sans fil, Ia troisième génération (3G) - mise en œuvre notamment par la norme UMTS (Universal Mobile Télécommunications System) - assure la convergence des réseaux fixes et des réseaux de mobiles en intégrant à ces derniers les services de communication jusque là réservés aux réseaux fixes, grâce notamment à des débits accrus via l'interface air (jusqu'à 2 Mbit/s). Parmi les services supportés figurent notamment (outre la voix) l'audio, la vidéo, le texte et le graphique, c'est-à-dire les éléments essentiels des applications multimédia. Parallèlement, les terminaux mobiles ont vu leur puissance augmenter, et se comportent désormais comme des ordinateurs standards, qui peuvent mettre en œuvre non seulement des applications persistantes - qui se déroulent sur le terminal - mais également des applications non persistantes - qui se déroulent sur un serveur distant, le terminal n'effectuant que les opérations de restitution, tel que l'affichage dans les applications vidéo (Cf. Pujolle, Les Réseaux, éd. 2008, Chap.43, pp.1004-1012).
Une application prometteuse des réseaux 3G est la diffusion bidirectionnelle de contenus vidéo numériques, effectuée en continu (streaming) et en direct ou en léger différé.
L'un des attraits - et l'une des difficultés - de ce type de service est l'inclusion, dans le contenu diffusé, de fonctionnalités interactives permettant au spectateur de transmettre des réactions au contenu (vote, partage d'opinion, envoi de messages à l'attention du diffuseur, demande de services complémentaires telle que la commande de sonneries personnalisées, etc.). Ces fonctionnalités interactives sont attrayantes car elles donnent au spectateur l'opportunité d'influer sur la diffusion. Elles sont toutefois difficiles à mettre en œuvre en temps réel en raison des délais inhérents à la diffusion dans les réseaux de mobiles, les débits permis par la 3G n'évitant pas des baisses ponctuelles du taux de transfert, ou même la perte momentanée de la liaison. En définitive, le champ des fonctionnalités interactives est
relativement restreint. En particulier, une véritable navigation Web à partir du contenu diffusé n'est, à ce jour, pas réalisable.
L'invention vise notamment à améliorer l'interactivité dans les services de diffusion bidirectionnelle de contenus vidéo numériques.
A cet effet, l'invention propose, suivant un premier aspect, un procédé de fourniture d'un contenu vidéo, comprenant les opérations suivantes :
- établissement d'une session vidéo entre un terminal mobile et un système de communication distant ; fourniture au terminal, par le système de communication, d'une vidéo enrichie d'un ou plusieurs marqueurs incrustés dans Ia vidéo ; activation à partir du terminal d'au moins un marqueur pendant Ia session vidéo ;
- envoi par le système de communication au terminal mobile d'un message textuel (par exemple un SMS ou un courrier électronique) comprenant un signet associé au marqueur activé.
Suivant un mode de réalisation, ce signet comprend au moins une adresse d'une page Web. Plus précisément, le signet est par exemple associé à un hyperlien pointant sur ladite page Web.
Quant au marqueur incrusté dans la vidéo, il s'agit par exemple d'un objet visuel.
L'activation du marqueur peut être effectuée au moyen d'une commande à partir d'un clavier du terminal, la reconnaissance de la commande étant de préférence effectuée, au sein du système de communication, par analyse fréquentielle.
Suivant un deuxième aspect, l'invention propose un système de communication comprenant : un serveur média, propre à établir une session vidéo avec un terminal mobile ;
- un serveur d'applications vidéo, relié au serveur média et sur lequel est implémentée une application de vidéo enrichie configurée pour inclure dans une vidéo un ou plusieurs marqueurs ; un serveur de messagerie, relié au serveur d'applications vidéo, programmé, sur commande du serveur d'applications vidéo, pour transmettre au terminal un message textuel en lien avec un marqueur activé depuis le terminal,
et éventuellement une base de données reliée au serveur d'applications vidéo, dans laquelle sont mémorisés lesdits marqueurs.
D'autres objets et avantages de l'invention apparaîtront à la lumière de la description faite ci-après en référence au dessin annexé qui illustre une architecture réseau et un procédé de communication conformes à l'invention.
L'architecture réseau 1 représentée comprend un terminal 2 mobile (téléphone mobile, PDA communicant ou Smartphone), relié, via l'interface air, à un système 3 de communication comprenant un serveur média 4, qui assure l'établissement de sessions médias avec le terminal 2, un serveur 5 d'applications vidéo, relié au serveur média 4 et sur lequel est implémentée une application de vidéo enrichie, une base de données 6 dans laquelle sont mémorisés des objets visuels, reliée ou intégrée au serveur 5 d'applications vidéo, ainsi qu'un serveur 7 de messagerie relié au serveur 5 d'applications vidéo.
Le terminal est équipé d'un écran 8 permettant l'affichage de vidéos, d'un clavier 9 permettant à l'utilisateur d'introduire des commandes, d'un haut-parleur permettant une restitution sonore audible à distance (c'est-à-dire lorsque le terminal 2 est tenu à bout de bras) ou d'une oreillette pour une écoute discrète.
Le serveur média 4 et le terminal mobile 2 sont configurés pour établir entre eux des sessions médias (par exemple suivant le protocole RTP ou H324m), permettant notamment l'échange de données vidéo, notamment dans le cadre de la fourniture d'un service de vidéo à la demande.
Les protocoles de transfert de données utilisés seront choisis de préférence pour obtenir une vitesse de transmission des données maximale, afin de minimiser le temps de réponse à des éventuelles interactions.
Une session média est d'abord établie (100) suivant un protocole temps réel (par exemple RTP ou H324m) entre le terminal 2 et le système 3 de communication, et plus précisément entre le terminal 2 (à l'initiative de celui-ci) et le serveur média 4. Cette session est bidirectionnelle, et comprend la transmission de données vidéo (et audio) en temps réel, avec codage des données sortantes (à l'entrée de
l'interface air) et décodage des données entrantes (à la sortie de l'interface air) effectués par le terminal 2.
Le serveur média 4 signale alors sans délai (110) au serveur 5 d'applications vidéo l'ouverture de cette session média, pour commander l'ouverture de l'application de vidéo enrichie, au moyen de laquelle des marqueurs, extraits de la base 6 de données, sont ajoutés à la vidéo diffusée. Ces marqueurs se présentent sous la forme d'objets visuels (textes pouvant être agencés ou non sous forme de menus, icônes, images - tels que logos -, animations) apparaissant en incrustation, éventuellement de manière localisée (par exemple en lien avec un produit) et temporaire.
Le flux de vidéo enrichie est transmis par le serveur 5 d'applications vidéo au serveur 4 média (120), compressé en temps réel au format d'échange précédemment employé (H.263, MPEG-4, H.264), et relayé (130) au terminal 2, qui en assure localement la décompression et la restitution.
Dès l'affichage d'un marqueur sur le terminal, et pendant une durée prédéterminée (par exemple confondue avec la durée d'affichage du marqueur), la possibilité est offerte à l'utilisateur d'activer le marqueur, notamment au moyen d'une commande vocale ou manuelle, par exemple par l'intermédiaire de touches du clavier 9, qui peut être réel ou virtuel.
L'activation est transmise (140) par le terminal 2, au cours de la session média, au serveur média 4, qui les relaye (150) au serveur 5 d'application vidéo. Cette activation est par exemple commandée par l'appui sur une touche du clavier 9, notamment parmi les touches du pavé numérique. L'appui sur la touche provoque l'envoi par le terminal 2 d'un signal de fréquence DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-Frequency) au serveur 4 média, qui le relaye au serveur 5 d'applications vidéo. Celui- ci effectue une analyse fréquentielle du signal dont est déduite la commande activée par le terminal 2, et la reconnaissance subséquente (par exemple au moyen d'un recoupement avec la plage horaire dans laquelle a été effectuée la commande) du marqueur ainsi activé. En variante, l'activation peut être commandée par la détection d'un mouvement particulier du terminal 2 (lequel sera à cet effet équipé de capteurs), ou encore par reconnaissance d'une image capturée et reconnue par le terminai 2.
Le serveur 5 d'applications vidéo commande alors l'envoi au terminal, via le serveur de messagerie (160 et 170), d'un message textuel (SMS ou courriel, suivant les fonctionnalités du terminal) contenant un signet en lien avec le marq ueur activé. Ce signet comprend l'adresse ou URL (U niform Resource Locator) d'une page Web sur laq uelle l'utilisateur pourra naviguer ultérieurement à partir du terminal 2 au moyen d 'un navigateur ou d 'un micronavigateur utilisant un protocole d'échange tel q ue HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) ou WAP (Wireless Application Protocol). L'URL peut être associé à un lien hypertexte (hyperlien) cliquable, pointant vers la page Web visée et commandant l'ouverture du navigateur et le chargement de la page.
L'utilisation du signet n'est toutefois pas limitée à la navigation, et l'utilisateur pourra utiliser les fonctions de bases du terminal 2 pour, notamment, sauvegarder le signet directement sur son terminal 2, ou à distance sur un serveur du réseau 1 pour une utilisation ultérieure depuis tout terminal pouvant être connecté à ce serveur, ou encore le transférer à destination d'un tiers (par exemple identifié en tant que contact dans un répertoire du terminal 2).
Le procédé, et l'architecture qui viennent d'être décrits, permettent aux utilisateurs bénéficiant de services de diffusion de contenus vidéo, et notamment de vidéo à la demande, de naviguer directement à partir de signets en lien avec le contenu diffusé. L'utilisateur économise ainsi une phase de recherche préalable de sites ou pages Web en lien avec des objets visualisés dans la vidéo.

Procédé de fourniture d'un contenu vidéo, comprenant les opérations suivantes : établissement (100) d'une session vidéo entre un terminal (2) mobile et un système (3) de communication distant ; fourniture (130) au terminal (2), par Ie système (3) de communication, d'une vidéo enrichie d'un ou plusieurs marqueurs incrustés dans la vidéo ; activation (140) à partir du terminal (2) d'au moins un marqueur pendant la session vidéo ; envoi (170) par le système (3) de communication au terminal (2) mobile d'un message textuel comprenant un signet associé au marqueur activé.
2. Procédé selon la revendication 1 , dans lequel le message textuel est un SMS.
3. Procédé selon Ia revendication 1 , dans lequel le message est un courrier électronique.
4. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, dans lequel le signet comprend au moins une adresse d'une page Web.
5. Procédé selon la revendication 4, dans lequel le signet est associé à un hyperlien pointant sur ladite page Web,
6. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, dans lequel le marqueur est un objet visuel.
7. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, dans lequel l'activation du marqueur est effectuée au moyen d'une commande à partir d'un clavier (9) du terminal (2).
8. Procédé selon la revendication 7, dans lequel la reconnaissance de la commande est effectuée, au sein du système (3) de communication, par analyse fréquentielle.
9. Système de communication (3) comprenant : un serveur média (4), propre à établir une session vidéo avec un terminal mobile (2) ; un serveur (5) d'applications vidéo, relié au serveur média (4) et sur lequel est implémentée une application de vidéo enrichie configurée pour inclure dans une vidéo un ou plusieurs marqueurs ; un serveur (7) de messagerie, relié au serveur (5) d'applications vidéo, programmé, sur commande du serveur (5) d'applications vidéo, pour transmettre au terminal (2) un message textuel en lien avec un marqueur activé depuis le terminal (2).
10. Système de communication (3) selon la revendication 9, comprenant en outre une base de données (6) reliée au serveur (5) d'applications vidéo, dans laquelle sont mémorisés lesdits marqueurs.
