Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé et un appareil destinés à produire des tracés céphalométriques du splanchnocrâne, et à enregistrer le mouvement des articulations d'un patient, pour un diagnostic orthodontique, en renonçant à la radiographie. A cette fin, une calotte mobile est placée, pendant la mesure et de manière à ne pas bouger, sur la tête du patient à examiner. Un champ magnétique est produit par des bobines disposées dans la calotte, ce champ reconnaissant des données 3D d'un stylet de mesure dans le champ magnétique. Ces données servent à enregistrer des lignes et points intra- et extrabuccaux tridimensionnels du crâne humain. A partir de ces points, le logiciel calcule une représentation graphique en 2D et en 3D, une évaluation, ainsi qu'une relation avec des scanographies en 3D et des enregistrements par tomographie volumique. Les mouvements de la mâchoire inférieure peuvent être enregistrés en continu, la tête gardant sa mobilité.
