Abstract

The present invention pertains to a data input device. The data input device of the present invention having a prescribed sensing area in an electronic device terminalcomprises: a sensing input part that senses the movement direction and pressure angle of a finger with respect to a reference position, which is generated by contact of the finger with said sensing area and removed when the contact is released, and a plurality of indicator positions radially arranged around said generated reference position, and generates an input signal corresponding to said movement direction and pressure angle; and a control part that determines the movement direction pressire angle of the finger based on said input signal, extracts data allocated to the corresponding movement direction and pressure angle from a memory part, and inputs said data. Accoding to the present invention, data can be continuously input by adjusting the movement direction and pressure angle of a finger at any arbitrary position in the sensing area, thereby increaseing the user’s comprehension of input and thus promoting the user’s skills and the accuracy of input.
