Abstract

본 발명은 디스플레이 밝기제어방법에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 사용자의 조작에 의해 디스플레이 설정값을 입력받고 입력받은 설정값중 변경된 설정값이 존재하는 지를 판단하는 단계와, 변경된 설정값이 존재하면 상기 변경된 설정값을 상기 디스플레이에 반영하는 단계와, 상기 디스플레이 설정값이 존재하는 지를 판단하는 단계와, 상기 디스플레이 설정값이 존재하면 변경된 상기 디스플레이 설정값에 따라 상기 디스플레이에 반영하는 단계와, 상기 디스플레이에 반영하는 단계후 다음 상기 디스플레이 설정값이 입력될때 까지 대기하는 단계를 포함하는 디스플레이 밝기제어방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 디스플레이의 화면출력영역을 사용영역과 비사용영역으로 구분하고, 사용영역은 원래의 밝기로 출력하고, 비사용영역의 밝기는 최소화하거나 차단하도록 함으로써, 휴대용 단말기에 사용되는 배터리의 소모를 줄이고 디스플레이의 수명을 연장시킴과 동시에, 디스플레이의 영역중 사용자가 필요로 하는 일정영역만을 밝게 조절함으로써, 디스플레이에 대한 시인성 저하를 미연에 방지하고, 사용자의 시력을 보호하는 효과가 있다.
