Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a storage container, in particular to a dispensing and storage container for pills, having a plurality of compartments in a rotatable barrel, each compartment being safely covered until it is moved into a dispensing position.
  • Dietary supplements in the form of pills can be an important part of an individual's total vitamin and mineral intake and complement their ordinary diet. Often many different dietary supplements are required in order to fulfil vitamin and mineral requirements, thus many different containers of pills may have to be handled. Many people experience difficulties in remembering when to take their dietary supplements and difficulties when travelling due to the bulk of the numerous pill bottles.
  • Prior art storage containers such as the so-called Dosett®, or the childproof dispenser disclosed in the European patent application EP 0519893 comprising rows of recesses in a rectangular box, each row covered by a sliding lid, are typically adapted for the storage and transport of pills for medical purposes.
