- these types of devices must be wind-resistant, so they incorporate anemometers that, by means of a control circuit, when it is detected that the wind exceeds a certain predetermined speed, the solar energy receiving panels are positioned to present the least resistance possible to the wind, what is conventionally known as the "flag" position, so that at specific times when the predetermined wind speed is exceeded, the solar energy receiving panels are no longer located in the proper use position of solar energy, by staying in the flag position until they return to receive the specific control signal, which occurs when the wind is less than the predetermined speed. Therefore, these types of devices do not achieve maximum use of solar energy when there are high wind speeds.
