[16] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a safety device for a portable cashbox which can improve the safety by preventing the drawer opening/ closing means from being illegally unlocked by manipulating an operating bar with a stick inserted through a money inlet hole or a gap formed between the drawer and a body, without operating a key.
[17] Another object of the present invention is to provide a safety device for a portable cashbox which can solve a safety problem by a simple construction in which a safety locking end is bent from a front end of an operating bar and is locked by a rotor of a key assembly not to be moved by illegal manipulation except for key operation. Technical Solution
[18] In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a safety device for a portable cashbox including a drawer movably installed in a body and having a key assembly and a money inlet hole which are provided on a front surface thereof, and means for opening or closing the drawer having an operating bar installed on a bottom portion of the drawer in such a way that the operating bar comes in contact with the bottom surface of the drawer, wherein a center portion of the operating bar is pivotally engaged to the bottom portion of the drawer by a hinge, and an end of the operating bar is inserted in a groove formed on a bottom surface of the drawer, and is
moved by rotating the rotor in rear of the key assembly with a key, so that locking means is unlocked by moving a locking end protruding upwardly from a front end of the operating bar and abutting against a stepped portion of the rotor to open the drawer; the safety device comprising a safety locking end protruding upwardly from the front end of the operating bar in rear of the rotor and abutting against the rotor, so that the operating bar is not moved by forcible manipulation of the operating bar, but is moved by rotation of the rotor using the key.
[19] Preferably, the safety locking end of the operating bar is formed by cutting and bending a front end of the operating bar, so that the safety locking end is integrally formed with the operating bar.
[20]
Advantageous Effects
[21] With the above construction, the present invention can improve the safety by preventing the drawer opening/closing means from being illegally unlocked by manipulating the operating bar with a tool inserted through the money inlet hole or a gap formed between the drawer and the body, without using a key. Also, the present invention can solve a safety problem by a simple construction in which the safety locking means is bent from the front end of the operating bar and is locked by the rotor of the key assembly not to be moved by illegal manipulation except for key operation. Brief Description of the Drawings
[22] The foregoing and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in which:
[23] FIGs. 1 and 2 are perspective and front views illustrating a conventional portable cashbox;
[24] FIG. 3 is a side view illustrating a drawer of the portable cashbox in FIG. 1 ;
[25] FIG. 4 is a bottom view illustrating a drawer of the portable cashbox in FIG. 1 ;
[26] FIG. 5 is a partial perspective view illustrating the major construction of the portable cashbox in FIG. 1 ;
[27] FIG. 6 is a partial perspective view illustrating the major construction of a portable cashbox according to an embodiment of the present invention;
[28] FIG. 7 is a perspective view illustrating an operating bar according to the present invention; and
[29] FIG. 8 is a front view illustrating operating states of a portable cashbox according to an embodiment of the present invention. Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[30] Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described with
reference to the accompanying drawings. [31] A portable cashbox includes, as shown in FIGs. 1 to 4 and 6 to 8, a drawer 5 movably installed in a body 2 and having a key assembly 6 and a money inlet hole 7 which are provided on a front surface of the drawer, and means for opening or closing the drawer 5 having an operating bar 10. [32] The operating bar 10 is installed on a bottom portion of the drawer in such a way that the operating bar 10 comes in contact with the bottom surface of the drawer 5. A center portion of the operating bar 10 is pivotally engaged to the bottom portion of the drawer
5 by a hinge 11, and an end of the operating bar 10 is inserted in a groove 5a formed on a bottom surface of the drawer, and is moved by rotating the rotor 20a in rear of the key assembly with a key, so that locking means is unlocked by moving a locking end
12 protruding upwardly from a front end of the operating bar and abutting against a stepped portion of the rotor 20 to open the drawer. [33] The safety device includes a safety locking end 15 protruding upwardly from the front end of the operating bar 10 in rear of the rotor 20 and abutting against the rotor, so that the operating bar is not moved by forcible manipulation of the operating bar, but is moved by rotation of the rotor using the key. [34] Specifically, the operating bar 10 is moved only by the key operation of the key assembly to unlock the drawer opening/closing means, which is a safety means to open the drawer. [35] Preferably, the safety locking end 15 of the operating bar 10 is formed by cutting and bending a front end of the operating bar 10, so that the safety locking end 15 is integrally formed with the operating bar 10. [36] It will be known that a safety locking member may be additionally formed and then be jointed to the front end of the operating bar by welding or mechanical fastening such as bolt or rivet. [37] Reference numeral 21 designates a stepped portion protruding from one side of the rotor 20, so that the locking end 12 or the safety locking end 15 abuts against the stepped portion. [38] The present invention secures the safety by solving the problem in that the operating bar 10 for unlocking the drawer opening/closing means is forcibly moved, without operating the key assembly 6 with the key. [39] In other words, the present invention can prevent the conventional drawback in that the drawer opening/closing means is unlocked by forcibly moving the operating bar 10 with a stick ruler or square inserted in a gap formed between the drawer 5 and the body
2, or by pulling the locking end 12 of the operating bar 12 with a steel wire inserted through the money inlet hole 7 of the drawer. [40] This is achieved by protruding the safety locking end 15 protruding upwardly from
the front end of the operating bar 10 at the position behind the rotation direction of the rotor.
[41] That is, the safety locking end 15 abuts against the rotor 20 and is supported by the rotor 20 even by forcibly moving the operating bar 10 or the locking end 12 of the operating bar 12, thereby preventing the operating bar 10 from being forcibly moved.
[42] Since the safety locking end 15 of the operating bar 10 is integrally formed with the front end of the operating bar 10 by cutting and bending the front end of the operating bar 10, the safety locking end 15 can be applied in the conventional process of manufacturing the portable cashbox, to improve the assembly productivity and economical efficiency thereof.
[43] The present invention can solve the problem restricted by the user since the drawer can be illegally opened, in spite of several profits that the cashboxes are conveniently used to deposit the moneys or valuables therein at shops, retail stores or chain stores.
[44] Although several exemplary embodiments of the present invention have been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
