Definitions
- the present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more particularly to a user apparatus, a base station apparatus, and a communication control method.
- OFDMA Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access
- SC-FDMA Single-Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access
- OFDMA is a multicarrier transmission method in which a frequency band is divided into a plurality of narrow frequency bands (subcarriers) and data is transmitted on each frequency band.
- OFDMA can achieve high-speed transmission and increase frequency utilization efficiency by arranging subcarriers closely on the frequency without overlapping each other even though they partially overlap.
- SC-FDMA is a single carrier transmission method that can reduce interference between terminals by dividing a frequency band and transmitting using different frequency bands among a plurality of terminals. Since SC-FDMA has the feature that the fluctuation of transmission power becomes small, it can realize low power consumption and wide coverage of terminals (for example, R. Dinis et al., “A Multiple Access Scheme for the Uplink of Broadband”). Wireless Access, “IEEE Globecom, Dec. 2004”.
- the frequency band usable in the system is divided into a plurality of resource blocks, and each resource block includes one or more subcarriers.
- One or more resource blocks are allocated to a user equipment (UE: User Equipment).
- UE User Equipment
- priority is given to the user equipment with good channel state according to the received signal quality or channel state information (CQI: Channel Quality Indicator) for each uplink resource block of each user equipment measured by the base station equipment.
- CQI Channel Quality Indicator
- frequency hopping in which usable frequency blocks are changed according to a predetermined frequency hopping pattern may be applied.
- different hatching indicates time / frequency resources allocated to different user apparatuses.
- UE2 was assigned a wider band, but a narrower band is assigned in the next subframe.
- Different frequency bands are allocated to each user apparatus so as not to overlap.
- each user equipment in a cell transmits using different time / frequency resources. In this way, orthogonality between user apparatuses in the cell is realized.
- SC-FDMA single-carrier transmission with a low peak power to average power ratio (PAPR) is realized by assigning continuous frequencies. For this reason, a coverage area can be increased in an uplink in which restrictions on transmission power are severe.
- the time / frequency resources to be allocated are determined by the scheduler of the base station apparatus based on the propagation status of each user and the QoS (Quality of Service) of data to be transmitted.
- QoS includes a data rate, a required error rate, and a delay.
- throughput can be increased by allocating time / frequency resources with good propagation conditions to each user.
- next generation wireless communication system Evolved UTRA and UTRAN's next-generation wireless communication system is under investigation.
- This next generation communication method may be called IMT-Advanced (International Mobile Telecommunication-Advanced) or 4G (4th generation).
- the next generation wireless communication system should support communication in various environments.
- main deployment environments include micro cells, indoor cells, and hot spot cells.
- next-generation wireless communication systems are required to provide services according to various environments and required QoS.
- the service includes an increase in data rate, response to various traffic required by QoS requirement conditions, and the like.
- it is required to increase the coverage area.
- various environments include a macro cell, a micro cell, an indoor cell, and a hot spot cell as shown in FIG. FIG. 2 shows an indoor / hot spot layer including an indoor cell / hot spot cell, a micro layer including a micro cell, and a macro layer including a macro cell.
- Next generation wireless communication systems should support communication in these various environments.
- QoS includes a data rate, a required error rate, a delay, and the like. Further, the data rate may be referred to as user throughput.
- next generation wireless communication systems are required to reduce network costs. For example, this can be achieved by increasing the transmission capacity and realizing a wide coverage area.
- next-generation wireless communication systems have compatibility with 3G (3rd Generation) systems.
- 3G 3rd Generation
- the multi-carrier scheme is more than the single carrier scheme applied in E-UTRA. Is preferred. For example, when single-user MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) is applied in order to realize high-speed transmission, the OFDM-based multi-carrier scheme having excellent resistance to multipath interference is superior.
- single-user MIMO Multiple Input Multiple Output
- a single carrier method capable of reducing PAPR is preferable.

- N sc RB is a resource block size in the frequency domain expressed as a plurality of subcarriers.
- N symb UL is the number of SC-FDMA symbols included in the uplink slot.
- the time domain resolution is 1 ms and the frequency domain resolution is 180 kHz.
- the scheduler 202 determines the radio access method used by the user apparatus to which radio resources are allocated. For example, the scheduler 202 determines whether to transmit an uplink signal using a single carrier scheme or a multicarrier scheme to a user apparatus to which radio resources are allocated.
- the scheduler 202 determines a roll-off rate to be applied to the user device for the user to which the radio resource is allocated.
- This roll-off rate may be a single value or a plurality of values.

- the scheduler 202 determines whether to transmit uplink data using a single carrier system or a multicarrier system to the user apparatus 100 n located in the area. decide. In other words, the scheduler 202 determines a radio access scheme to be used by the user apparatus 100 n that is in the area, based on the distance from another base station apparatus located in the vicinity of the base station apparatus. Specifically, when the inter-site distance is less than a predetermined distance, it is determined that transmission is performed by the multicarrier method. The peak data rate can be improved by deciding to transmit by the multicarrier method when the inter-site distance is less than the predetermined distance.
- the predetermined distance may be determined based on the PAPR and the data rate.
- the scheduler 202 may set the roll-off rate to zero when it is determined that the multi-carrier transmission is used. High-speed transmission can be realized by setting the roll-off rate to zero when it is determined that transmission is performed by the multicarrier method.
- the scheduler 202 may determine the roll-off rate according to the radius of the cell covered by the base station apparatus 200. For example, the roll-off rate may be increased as the cell radius increases. By increasing the roll-off rate as the cell radius increases, PAPR can be reduced and the coverage area can be increased. Since PAPR can be reduced and the coverage area can be widened, it is possible to improve reception quality of uplink signals transmitted from user apparatuses located at cell edges.
- the scheduler 202 causes the user apparatus 100 n located in the area to transmit uplink data by a single carrier scheme or a multicarrier scheme based on the cell configuration of the base station apparatus 200. It may be determined. Specifically, when the cell configuration is an indoor cell or a hot spot cell, it is determined that transmission is performed by the multicarrier method. This is because the cell radius is small, so that the peak data rate is given priority over the coverage area. Further, when the cell configuration is a macro cell or a micro cell, it is determined to transmit by a single carrier method. This is because it is necessary to secure a coverage area as compared with an indoor cell or a hot spot cell.
- the scheduler 202 may determine whether to perform transmission using a single carrier scheme or multicarrier scheme according to the type of physical channel. Specifically, the data channel is determined to be transmitted by the multicarrier method. High-speed transmission can be realized by transmitting the data channel by the multicarrier method. The control channel is determined to be transmitted by a single carrier method. By transmitting the control channel by the single carrier method, the base station apparatus 200 can reduce reception errors of the control channel transmitted by the user apparatus 100 n .
- the scheduler 202 may set the roll-off rate to zero when it is determined that the multi-carrier transmission is used. In this way, high-speed transmission can be realized in the multicarrier system.
For this reason, the reception quality of the uplink signal transmitted from the user apparatus located at the cell edge can be improved.
- the scheduler 202 sets the determined radio access scheme, and inputs the radio access scheme, the roll-off rate, the resource block to be allocated to the user, and the MCS set to the uplink radio access scheme and the resource block allocation information signal generation unit 204. Further, the scheduler 202 inputs information indicating a resource block to be allocated to the user to the subcarrier demapping unit 214. For example, the resource block number may be included in the information indicating the resource block. In addition, a radio access scheme switching signal including the set radio access scheme is input to the radio access scheme switching sections 216 and 226. The frequency domain signal subjected to the demapping process is input to the frequency domain equalization unit 218. Further, based on the radio access scheme switching signal input by the scheduler 202, the radio access scheme switching unit 216 performs subcarrier demapping 214 when the radio access scheme switching signal is a signal indicating a multicarrier scheme. - the channel equalization unit 222 performs channel equalization processing on the frequency domain signal on which demapping processing has been performed based on the channel estimation value input by the synchronization detection / channel estimation unit 208. Then, the channel equalization unit 222 inputs the signal on which the channel equalization processing has been performed to the P / S 224.
- the P / S 224 is connected to the channel equalization unit 222, and performs parallel-serial conversion processing on the signal that has been subjected to channel equalization processing by the channel equalization unit 222. Then, the P / S 224 inputs the signal subjected to the parallel / serial conversion to the wireless access method switching unit 226.
- the radio access scheme switching unit 226 is connected to the IDFT 220 and the P / S 224, and performs data demodulation on the signal subjected to the inverse discrete Fourier transform input by the IDFT 220 or the signal subjected to the parallel-serial conversion input by the P / S 224. To the unit 228.
- the data demodulating unit 228 is connected to the radio access scheme switching unit 226, and based on the transmission format input by the scheduler 202, the data demodulated by the inverse discrete Fourier transform input by the radio access scheme switching unit 226 or parallel serial. - the data decoder 230 is connected to the data demodulator 228 and decodes the demodulated signal input by the data demodulator 228 based on the transmission format input by the scheduler 202. As a result, transmission data is obtained.
- the user apparatus 100 n makes a radio resource allocation request to the base station apparatus 200 (step S702). For example, when an uplink signal is generated, the user apparatus 100 n makes a radio resource allocation request to the base station apparatus 200 in order to transmit the uplink signal.
- the base station apparatus 200 performs scheduling based on the radio resource allocation request transmitted by the user apparatus 100 n .
- the base station apparatus 200 determines to allocate radio resources to the user apparatus 100 n
- the base station apparatus 200 determines resource blocks and transmission formats to be allocated to the user apparatus 100 n .
- the base station apparatus 200 determines a radio access scheme to be applied to the user apparatus 100 n (step S704).
- the scheduler 202 performs scheduling based on QoS required for uplink data transmitted by the user apparatus 100 n , uplink channel quality information, path loss, and the like. Then, the scheduler 202 may use either radio access scheme determination methods described above, to determine a radio access scheme to be applied to the user apparatus 100 n. Further, the scheduler 202 determines the roll-off rate by a method shown in any of the above-described radio access method determination methods.
- the base station apparatus 200 transmits a radio access method switching signal (step S706).
- the base station apparatus 200 may transmit a radio access scheme switching signal using a broadcast channel.
- This radio access scheme switch signal includes information of radio access scheme to be applied to the user apparatus 100 n.
- the user apparatus 100 n switches to the radio access scheme included in the radio access scheme switching signal (step S708).
- the wireless access switching unit 108 switches to the wireless access method included in the input wireless access method switching signal.
- the user apparatus 100 n transmits an uplink signal according to the radio access scheme included in the radio access scheme switching signal (step S710).
- the base station apparatus 200 performs reception processing on the uplink signal transmitted by the user apparatus 100 n according to the radio access scheme determined in step S704 (step S712).
- the roll-off rate when it is determined that the user apparatus 100n is to transmit an uplink signal by the multicarrier method, the roll-off rate may be defined to be zero on the system. By stipulating that the roll-off rate is zero on the system when it is determined to transmit an uplink signal by the multicarrier scheme, the base station apparatus transmits the uplink signal to the user apparatus by the multicarrier scheme. When it is determined to transmit, it is not necessary to notify the roll-off rate. Since it is not necessary to notify the roll-off rate, the amount of information to be transmitted can be reduced.
- the radio access method can be switched in the uplink according to the environment to be supported.
- the environment to be supported includes cell configuration. Even when the multi-carrier scheme is applied, it can be realized by adding S / P to a single-carrier transmitter.
- the roll-off rate of the radio access method and the waveform shaping filter can be adaptively controlled according to the environment to be supported. For this reason, the PAPR and the peak data rate can be optimized.
- the radio communication system having the user apparatus and the base station apparatus according to the present embodiment is the same as the user apparatus and the base station apparatus described with reference to FIGS.
- the base station apparatus 200 determines a wireless access method for each user apparatus in the area.
- the scheduler 202 performs control specific to each user apparatus according to information such as QoS and channel quality.
- the QoS may include information required for the data rate of the data to be transmitted, the required error rate, and the delay.
- the channel quality may include CQI (Channel Quality Indicator) and path loss.
- the scheduler 202 may determine whether to perform transmission using a single carrier scheme or multicarrier scheme according to the number of resource blocks (RBs) to be allocated. Specifically, when the number of resource blocks allocated to the user apparatus 100 n is equal to or greater than a predetermined number, it is determined that the transmission is performed by the multicarrier scheme. This is because priority is given to the peak data rate. Further, when the number of resource blocks allocated to the user is less than a predetermined number, it is determined that transmission is performed by the single carrier method.
- RBs resource blocks
- the scheduler 202 may set the roll-off rate to zero when it is determined that the multi-carrier transmission is used. If the roll-off rate is set to zero when it is determined that transmission is performed by the multi-carrier method, high-speed transmission can be realized in the multi-carrier method. On the other hand, when it is determined that transmission is performed by the single carrier method, the scheduler 202 may determine the roll-off rate according to the number of resource blocks to be allocated to the user apparatus 100 n . For example, the roll-off rate may be increased as the number of resource blocks allocated to the user apparatus 100 n increases. By increasing the roll-off rate as the number of resource blocks to be allocated increases, PAPR can be reduced and the coverage area can be widened. Since PAPR can be reduced and the coverage area can be widened, it is possible to improve reception quality of uplink signals transmitted from user apparatuses located at cell edges.
- the scheduler 202 determines a modulation scheme / channel coding scheme (MCS) set to be applied to a user apparatus to which radio resources are allocated.
- MCS modulation scheme / channel coding scheme
- the MCS set may be associated with a roll-off rate. For example, when the determined MCS is a high-efficiency MSC that is a modulation scheme / channel coding rate with high transmission efficiency, the roll-off rate is set to a small value. If the determined MCS is a low efficiency MCS that is a modulation scheme / channel coding rate with low transmission efficiency, the roll-off rate is set to a large value.
- the user apparatus 100 n is located closer to the base station apparatus 200 as the number of RBs is larger and the selected MCS has a higher transmission efficiency and modulation scheme / channel coding rate. It is assumed. Since the user apparatus 100 n is assumed to be located in a position near the base station apparatus 200, the peak data rate is prioritized over the coverage area. On the other hand, regarding the number of RBs and MCS, it is assumed that the user equipment 100 n is positioned closer to the cell edge side as the number of RBs is smaller and as the selected MCS has a lower modulation efficiency / channel coding rate. The Since the user apparatus 100 n is assumed to be located on the cell edge side, the coverage area is given priority over the peak data rate.
- the scheduler 202 may determine whether to perform transmission using a single carrier scheme or multicarrier scheme according to the data rate of transmission data. Specifically, the scheduler 202 determines to apply a multicarrier scheme capable of realizing a high data rate to users located near the base station apparatus based on the path loss. Further, based on information such as transmittable power, it may be determined that a multi-carrier scheme capable of realizing a high-speed data rate is applied to a user located near the base station apparatus. In addition, it is determined that the single carrier method is applied to the user at the cell edge. Furthermore, an increase in the coverage area may be realized by performing control to increase the roll-off rate for a user applying the single carrier method.
- the radio access scheme switching signal may be notified for each user through the physical downlink control channel.
- the physical downlink control channel may include an L1 / L2 control channel.
- the radio access scheme / roll-off rate is determined by cell-specific control information.
- the base station apparatus 200 notifies cell-specific information to the user apparatus 100 n located in the area using the broadcast channel. After notifying the cell-specific information to the user apparatus 100 n located in the area, the radio access method / roll-off rate may be controlled according to the individual control information for each user apparatus. For example, the base station apparatus 200 notifies the corresponding user apparatus 100 n of the unique information for each user apparatus through the physical downlink control channel.
- the application of the single carrier method can be considered from the viewpoint of the coverage area.
- Control may be performed so that high-speed data transmission can be realized.
- a control to apply a large roll-off rate by a single carrier method may be performed according to the channel quality.
- the communication control method according to the present embodiment is the communication control method described with reference to FIG. 7 in that a radio access method switching signal is notified to each user through an individual L1 / L2 control channel in step S706. Different.
- the roll-off rate when it is determined that the user apparatus transmits an uplink signal by the multicarrier method, the roll-off rate may be defined to be zero on the system.
- the base station apparatus allows the user apparatus to uplink by the multicarrier scheme.
- the radio access method in the uplink, can be switched for each user apparatus according to the environment to be supported.
