Abstract

In order to burn lumpy combustibles (25), the same are fed to a combustion chamber within a rotating pipe (13). In addition, combustion air (3) that is conducted via a pre-combustion chamber (8) as well as tertiary air (1) from a clinker cooler of a cement production facility are fed to the combustion chamber. Furthermore, volatile combustible (7) is fed to the pre-combustion chamber (8). Preheated raw meal or a mineral component (29) is fed in order to regulate the temperature in the pre-combustion chamber and in the combustion chamber within the rotating pipe.
